Many of you asked me about a cryptic press release from Gov. Moore about “Tristan”. This chaotic disaster is way worse than you imagine. It took the Trump administration intervening to finally bring get this troubled young man back into an environment where he could be cared for. Here is a basic question I have for the legislators in Annapolis… should BPD have the ability to forcibly detain a child in a situation like this? I think it’s common sense. The report cites at least 3 big issues involving MONSE and the SideStep program (youth diversion program that acts as an alternative to the juvenile justice system). #maryland

When politicians discovered that their legislation would leave the state exposed to massive liabilities due to abuse taking place under State care, the lawmakers simply carved out an exception, severely limiting financial claims for people victimized under state care. Apparently, the Moore administration is using money from the American Rescue Plan Act to hire the Boston Consulting Group for $15 million, that has so far found $29 million in savings. Spending 1 dollar to save 2 is an ROI I would NEVER tolerate if I were an executive. The whole situation looks a little fishy to me, especially when the governor told us that his Chief Performance Officer did audits, and it turns out, they actually do not. Maryland needs a statewide Inspector General ASAP!!! #maryland

Anthropic really does not want their AI platform to be used for autonomous weapons or domestic surveillance. The Pentagon doesn’t want limitations on how they use these AI tools.
