@StanCollymore I think he needs to give players the chance to show that they’re as good as the ones who are starting EVERY week and not doing it. Abraham, Barkley etc. He also needs to realise players who we’ve tried to get rid of in the past (Bailey, Buendia) won’t cut it. Drop Watkins!

Before the subs we looked like a top European team,pressing hard,working hard and considering the players were squad players they looked like a European first team. @espenstrand @AVFCLancelot 100% agree. If Ramsey wasn’t a youth product and was playing for another club, I wouldn’t pay more than £20-25m for him, he’s certainly not a high end Prem player, probably a very good squad player who pushes for a start at a club 6th-12th.

I like Vidagany but it’s concerning the club feel £39m was a good price. He’s an established top end premier league player, English qualified and homegrown, and young. Other clubs get £50m+. This explains why PSR is such a problem for us #avfc

@danbardell @The1874Podcast 2 things for me, firstly the lack of use Emery applies to new signings. Tielemans, Maatsen, Malen never really seeing the game time they should. Secondly, is there a deliberate slow pace the team use at start of season to save legs for when we hit the business end, later on?

@avfc_stef I think in general Emery is getting us playing at a slower pace to conserve energy amount the squad for the big push towards the back end of the season! We did exactly the same last season all be it we got a few better results from Duran super strikes!

Keep an eye on Rogers if he starts tonight… The Fulham game made it clear to me that he’s adjusting his game under Emery’s instructions - I think he’s been told to look for a pass sooner rather than carrying it as far as he used to. Hence the teething issues and number of incomplete passes. Hopefully once he’s through this hump we’ll see a return to form and an all-round better player. Hopefully we’re not seeing a player’s magic being coached out of them - akin to Pep with Jack. Time will tell. #AVFC

It is always difficult in such moments to find the right words – especially as I am writing in English – but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone. We have shared so many amazing moments over the past two years but above everything, I will take away the many new friends I have made at Aston Villa. Thank you to Unai and Damian for bringing me here, to the backroom staff, the players and everyone who works so hard behind the scenes at the football club. And, of course, to the owners Nassef, Wes and Michael for the confidence they showed in me. It has also been nice to work with Francesco again. Lastly, a big thank you to the supporters. We have enjoyed so many special moments together. I will be always a villan. The time has come for me to continue in another way but I cannot forget these last two years. It has been one of the greatest moments of my life to work at Aston Villa Thank you again, and UTV!

If you look at how Donyell Malen has been used since joining us and his minutes, you’d think he was a young player coming through. He’s 27 in January and is experienced in Europe at club level with nearly 50 caps for the Netherlands. Confused is an understatement 🤔 #avfc

@Total_Villa Think the bloke had been treated really poorly! I’d be really surprised if his head hasn’t gone. Came in from Champions League finalists and hasn’t been given a chance, needs an arm round the shoulder and a run of games to get to his level, not 5 mins here and there!

@HLTCO Unfortunately Emery isn’t giving the players he’s brought in a chance. Maatsen & Malen are the 2 main ones. Their lack of game time is crazy! Champions League finalists before they came to Villa, now they can’t get a game! 🤯
