@TotalVilla_ Depends what we are able to spend in the summer before and even after potential sales. We could use the free agent market if needs be. Wilson and Mingueza on a free is a good start off the top of my head then focus on other problem areas

The problem with replacing players people want to move on (Watkins, Martinez, Digne, Buendia, Bailey etc) is that the level of replacements people want will cost more than we’d receive for them.
For example, a Watkins replacement would cost more than we’d get for him 💰 #avfc

@AVFCOfficial What the team is producing this season, despite carrying 5/6 injuries at any given time, operating with a small squad and clear lack of depth, is still amazing to me. Can’t fault the lads despite the odd blip which is to be expected

@Alex_Berwick My understanding is the “squad registration” sanction is the issue we’ve been hindered by most. Revenue could technically be double but we can still only spend what we accumulate transfer wise. Thankfully that’s not in place next season.

6: In terms of transfers, there is not a penny here we can spend without raising it first. Each in can be no more than the previous out, and ideally they’d be cheaper if we want to lessen any shortfall and exit sanctions ASAP. #avfc

Takeaways from the results (not accounts) out this morning:
1: Huge initial step in the right direction. But primarily based on increased revenue from CL.
2: That means revenue at best on next years accounts will stagnate. Likely we’ll even see a decrease. #avfc

In the real world the concern will be revenue will stagnate without CL income on next years accounts. So to maintain this figure, it’s - in cost terms - one in one out.

@Trentvilla1 Despite the sanctions, each transfer window has appeared disorganised and left the squad in a state of uncertainty. The club has made errors, and while the players signed prior to Emery have performed exceptionally well, that’s the next step we have to start getting spot on

Increasingly feels like the “sustainability” part of PSR is geared towards sustaining the “big 6” as the top 6. It’s not good for the game. Regulations need to be in place, but they need time to give those that want to compete a chance. Some teams are happy just surviving in the PL, a few aren’t.

@AVFCTranstweet We are mediocre overspenders too. If we complied with SCR, not overspent on wages and actually be able to sell players instead of loans we’d be in a stronger position. We are hamstrung because we’ve messed up too
