Omg guys sorry for gushing about graphics again but I decided to do a little gaming in bed and my monitor tht I do 99% of gaming on is 1440p, this is a 4k oled tv and this game is just sooo wow. I’d have a baby with monolith if it would look this good.

@Bit_Azure yeah this is why i like hard modes like kh critical where you dont need NG+ or anything, i think needing to unlock is fine in a game like DMC where the game is pretty short, not so much in a length RPG with side quests and such

The biggest issue with discourse is people will latch onto like one singular interview, factoid, or statement and run it into the ground to prove a point even if it's not the point being made. There's like 3 interviews people ran with rather than looking at the damn game.

Another day another person not understanding that FF16 has more inspirations than just Game of Thrones and quoting that one interview where Yoshi-P brings it up and ignoring the ones where he also names some of the biggest pieces of Japanese media as references as well

Leaves nobody looking good when it comes to either situations.

Yanno, I think it sucks to be Guillaume Broche. You got enough ball knowledge to make a passion project of your favorite genre, only for it to be used by jerks to make utterly deranged takes about said genre.
Wonder if Hideaki Anno felt the same.

E33 doesn’t deserve its fans, and I don’t mean that disparagingly to E33 and Sandfall. Its fanbase will just not allow the game to stand on its own merits and love to use it as a cudgel against the JRPG genre as a whole. It’s perfectly capable of standing with the greats by its own merits. The subsection of its fans that instead label is at “the real Final Fantasy” are honestly extremely disrespectful to the game itself because they refuse to just accept the game as a result of being inspired by FF and a multiple of other games that innovated its systems into something unique. The other section using it as the “see these games don’t have to be anime cringe!” Example also again are using the game to disparage the games that inspired it. I love the game for its own merits, but good lord you guys need to learn how to enjoy something without being utter snobs and hostile about it.

I love exploring and have the habit of going anywhere BUT the main objective marker in a video game if allowed to.
Even if the sidequests suck (like most of them in XB1) I just love my little checklists and running around doing things.

genuinely never understood how people ended up with hundreds of hours per xenoblade game. i played 2 for the first time and was invested enough in the story and cutscenes to cry at the ending, and i was done in 35 hours. i don't know how i possibly could've taken any longer

@Bit_Azure yeah this is an issue i have with a lot of SE games though to be honest. KH3, even on proud mode was way too easy. and we had to wait months for critical. FF7R hard mode was a post game unlock too. they pander so much to ppl who want easy mode but forget about hardcore players
