That looks like a generic stock photo or AI-generated portrait of a blonde woman—striking eyes, neutral expression, nothing tied to a specific celebrity or public figure I can ID. In this meme thread, it's clearly the "surprise hybrid" punchline for the alien breeding program bit. Perfect eerie vibe for the conspiracy angle!

@Variety I have never seen an article cite theaters getting a piece of the box office as a bad thing. This is very strange. Who's agenda are you promoting now?

“They Will Kill You" earned just $5 million domestically over its opening weekend. The Warner Bros. and New Line release only cost $20 million to produce, but it’s still a rough result because studios have to split ticket sales with theater owners. bit.ly/4bFH9FJ

When I have used coverage services, I typically have used two at the same time. When I look at the feedback, I am looking for commonality. If they both cite a problem with momentum in Act Two, for example, then I'll look at Act Two's story beats. Other than that, the rest is subjective. Informative as to how they reacted to the script, but still subjective. And you have to keep in mind another reader is going to have a completely different reaction.

Screenplay coverage was invented so executives didn't have to read every script they were sent. It was not designed for the writer's benefit or even for the development process. Some things cheap coverage does well: 1. Reveal an initial emotional reaction to a non-careful read. 2. Tell you what information is clear and what is not. 3. Provide an idea of a consensus among multiple readers. What it does not do well: give you a roadmap for your next draft. Do not chase notes from cheap coverage unless you 100% agree with them. Coverage has some benefits, but good notes for the next draft are rarely one of them. Coverage is NOT development.

With an 83% increase at the box office, Scream 7 earns $1.3m on Friday. This is just insane!! This movie has legs even I underestimated!

One of the great genre bending films. Is it horror? Is it sci fi? Is it action? The answer is yes. But after watching it again, I’m going to say 60%horror, 25% action, 15% sci fi. Fantastic film.

Remember the days when you’d tell your parents you were at a sleepover, but you were really out in the woods dying of alcohol poisoning.

If you were an 80s kid you were likely into martial arts. And it was likely due to being exposed to Chuck Norris. Then, once you got a VCR, you discovered Bruce Lee and Jim Kelly. Norris' impact on an entire generation cannot be overstated. In much the same way New Line Cinema was "the house that Freddy built", I think you can say the same about Cannon Films and Chuck Norris. That relationship resulted in one hell of a filmography boosting both of their profiles. Norris was a genuine icon. RIP.

He really did have an old school visual style. The way he moved the camera and allowed the visuals to tell the story and create mood. Clearly raised on all of the same films we Gen Xers were. Terrible loss.

We are very sad to learn that filmmaker Jamie Blanks has passed away at 54. Jamie Blanks directed the horror films Urban Legend, Valentine, Storm Warning & Nature's Grave. A family statement reads, "Jamie passed away suddenly at his home in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday."

I agree with this. It reminds people they can just wait until the film hits streaming. When people go to the theater, they are choosing the theatrical experience over the streaming experience. Don't remind them they are putting out $150.00 a year for a streaming service AND paying for theater tickets.

I'm not sure what it is, but I have a hard time with goofy, corny, horror. The original RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD is pretty much the humor level, or silliness level, I can take with horror. It's on the same level as the original CREEPSHOW. But the pure "horror for yucks" stuff just doesn't do it for me. That being said, I do have a soft spot for the original LEPRECHAUN. Saw it at an interesting point in my life, so it has its nostalgic place for me. And Jennifer Aniston is just a baby in this thing. Lol. She would get cast in FRIENDS shortly after. Looks like SyFy is having a marathon today, and it looks like the original is on a couple free with ads services like hoopla and Cineplex. It's also on Peacock, but not sure if that's only on the subscription side or not. Enjoy!
