Laura Coates: I've been a federal employee not getting paid during a shutdown. Those are fields that you want people to feel as though they are invested in the job... To not pay them and have them be a pawn, I don't know, anyone could feel safe.

Elissa Slotkin: We are going to have to grapple with the unbelievable corruption that is coming out of this administration. His kids alone have earned $1 billion since he became president. A lot of my peers do whatever the president tells them to do. They've ceded power as a separate branch of government. It's amazing.
