My opinion on who will be here after this offseason season Jamal 50/50 Cb Yes Cam Yes Ag 50:50 Jokic Yes Bruce No Thj Yes PWAT Yes Val No Strawther Yes Jones Yes Zeke No Pickett Yes Holmes Yes Tyus No

One Nuggets starter is "almost guaranteed" to be sacrificed this offseason if the team moves to retain restricted free agent Peyton Watson, per @BennettDurando “One of the Nuggets’ top priorities will be retaining restricted free agent Peyton Watson, and if they do, at least one current starter is almost guaranteed to be sacrificed in a corresponding cost-cutting move.“ (denverpost.com/2026/05/01/nug…)

David Adelman is expected to return as head coach of the Denver Nuggets for his second season, per @BennettDurando “Despite chatter that Adelman may already be on the hot seat one year into his tenure, the early sense within the organization is that he’ll return for his second season. He led the Nuggets to 54 regular-season wins with 28 different starting lineups before wiping out in the playoffs.” (denverpost.com/2026/05/01/nug…)

the thing we’re omitting here & why the media “overhype” is relevant is that it snowballs & results in the very awards they turn around & give the player. Jokic is 3x MVP winner. 2021 he avg 26/10/8 on a 3 seed. he won in landslide over Embiid, who avg 28/10/3 as a 1 seed 2022 he avg 27/13/7 on a SIX SEED, again won over Embiid who avg 30/12/4 on a 4 seed 2024 he avg 26/12/9 on a 2 seed, won over SGA & Luka.. we all know that MVP debate. Point is, media narratives at the time were Embiid is playoff choker, which seriously hurt his MVP motion. Jokic was viewed as the advanced stats Second Coming of Christ. In these close MVP races, media perception of Jokic helped him win votes. If Jokic had the narrative that’s on him as of today back in 21, 22 or 24, does he win? I genuinely think no. There’s an argument to be made if media isn’t in love with Jokic to the level they were, there’s a world where he’s a maybe 1 time winner. There’s a reason rings are the ultimate value in weighing legacy over MVP awards. no amount of media hype can put that ring on your finger.
