Whether or not you think Jones is worth $6M, losing him to OKC of all teams for nothing is a bad look. Burning limited draft assets to get off Nnaji’s contract so you can keep him or trading a starter to make room for him (a good role player but not starter-level) is a bad look.

@DanielWinston3 My point is even if he doesn’t, it’s not Sam Presti’s money, and offer-sheeting the guy is a fairly low-risk way to mess with a team that’s trying to catch up with you

@BennettDurando I guess we’ll see, they just dumped three players this offseason that are all much better than Jones. And all of them had trouble getting playing time. So odds are good Jones won’t either.

@BennettDurando Because everything in life is a cost benefit analysis. Is a 15th player worth burning 30 million?

@DanielWinston3 He’s already saved his owner a lot of money on the tax bill this summer. If his only order was to get them under the second apron, which they still are if Jones goes unmatched, why should he care about the tax ramifications of poaching a $6M role player from a rival contender?
