@fuscelloo @AAladaris I think its because they had two really solid designs that many people were hyped to see that did focus more on the shuriman aspects and it kinda got thrown under the rug for the sake of finishing the story and then revealing him to basically be Xin -

@su_akali_18 @ZzShy @Borbinite But Varus wasn't created to be a Darkin, so his appearance was never intended to be Egyptian. Maybe in a future rework, but for now that doesn't make sense as an argument.

@ChxxtahGxrl I had a lot of people ask about Varus and I do want to remind everyone while it is technically Varus’ whole thing — they did kinda just slap him together randomly with the darkin after not being a darkin for a while I hope he gets more to really solidify what his deal is

@Borbinite Now time for them to add in the new champ from demacia next season as his new mentor figure so Xin gets shafted from two storylines now😭 Zaahen took his body and now they will replace his future lore with the new guy probably (I meant this as a joke but I hope it isnt true)

@Borbinite I honestly do believe there is some reason as to why his face is the way it is, because if you remember, Va(a)rus also has a very human body/face. I feel like the more a darkin gets currupted, the more twisted their body becomes, thanks to the hemomancy altering the body

@Borbinite Now, whether you care about the in-lore/in-universe rational or not is up to you. I'm down with it because it does honor Xin's sacrifice, and is fairly unique for a Darkin champ in LoL to do that. But I get why people might not like design/choice.

@LeakytheBleaky I hope he has interactions with the other darkin because I know it's gotta be interesting to talk to Kayn and then witnessing Varus as well Aatrox probably is seething, but thats like his gen mood 80% of the time

@Borbinite This is a very rare thing tbh. Varus looks like that because, in a meta sense, he was never meant to be a Darking, while in the lore, he’s got two hosts technically. Here, Xaahen is a Darking that helped seal his kin, so he’s stayed sane all up until now
