Where specifically are you having this issue? Most stores will still take it if it's like walmart buying spray paint, i've seen liqour stores take expired IDs. If you mean cops at traffic stops specifically, that's sort of different. Though, usually they'll just hand it back and tell you to get it fixed. Unless you get an asshole.

Why aren't expired ID's accepted as proof of age? I was 33 before it expired....Im not magically 17 because that piece of plastic is expired.
