He’s England’s biggest talent in recent times, and the crazy part is people still debate it like it’s not obvious when you look at the full picture of Phil Foden. We’re talking about a player who didn’t just have hype, he actually fulfilled it at the highest level. From youth level dominance to becoming a key figure under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, his development has been almost flawless. He’s won 6 Premier League titles at 25, got 10 G/A this season (same as Bukayo Saka) and somehow people still talk about Phil Foden like he’s some player that hasn’t reached potential. You don’t fluke your way into six Premier League medals under Pep Guardiola. Pep doesn’t hand out minutes for vibes, if you’re playing, it’s because you understand space, tempo, pressing triggers, and decision-making at an elite level. Foden didn’t just “exist” in those teams, he became central to them, especially in the 23/24 run where he was arguably City’s most decisive attacker. People ignore role. Foden isn’t a stat-padding winger who lives for isolation or a pure 10 who dominates touches. He’s a connector and accelerator, He Receives in tight spaces, Links play in the final third, Creates overloads in half-spaces and Scores when the structure creates the moment That kind of player will never look as loud statistically as a volume winger but tactically, he’s gold. People often forget he’s just 25 and about entering his prime, maybe because he’s been around for too long, and that in itself is a testament to how good Phil Foden is. He broke into the first team so early under Pep Guardiola that it feels like he’s already had a full career. But in reality, he’s just now reaching the stage where most elite players truly peak physically, mentally, and tactically. Yet he’s already Won everything domestically, Been a central figure in title-winning teams, Collected individual awards like PFA Player of the Year Technically, he’s arguably England most complete Player. Tight control in small spaces, Elite first touch, Quick decision-making, Ability to play multiple roles at a high level

Players like Kane, Hazard, Mbappe and co were tearing the world apart at 25. Phillip Walter Foden is the first 25 yr old that still gets treated like an academy player for being dogshit at the sport. Blame Pep and Tuchel all you want but it’s nobody’s fault but Foden that he hasn’t hit top gear,

@rioferdy5 Saying he's struggled in an England shirt is completely fair, but to state that he's the main one struggling is nonsense, and it feels like a witchhunt as of more recently.

Thomas Tuchel on @PhilFoden's latest England performances: "He tried everything. I'd say he was excellent in camp but he struggles to show it on the pitch. "He didn’t have a lot of minutes for #ManCity recently. Then he came to camp with the brightest smile and was so good in training and I thought he'll surprise us, play with the same verve and excitement. But he struggles to have the full impact..." [via @CraigHope_DM]

@InvertTheWing Bonkers take. Aguero was akin to Romario. Foden problem is he’s far too lightweight. He’s not developing at city anymore. I love him. But he’ll never play like Aguero.

Foden should look to replicate his game off of Aguero, at this point. His future may be at 9, I like what Tuchel sees. Dribbling in those tight spaces, has those sort of finishes in his locker. Just needs to work on his physicality a bit.

@MagpieMediaX No. He thinks he’s a footballer but isn’t. Holds the ball way too much and too long. Thinks he’s a ball player. He’s shite.

Honestly think Maguire should be starting alongside Guehi at the World Cup. He’s just solid, isn’t he? At both ends!

John Stones made 11 appearances (6 starts) in the Premier League last season and has made 7 appearances (3 starts) so far this season and yet so many people want him to start for us in the World Cup..? I understand he was once our best CB, but he shouldn't even go tbh.. Let's be honest here, Dan Burn shouldn't be going either. Harry Maguire should be starting next to Guehi imo, and if not then Konsa. O'Reilly shouldn't be getting in anyone's XI's over Lewis Hall either. Hope Tuchel gets it right..

None of the fools Tuchel called up are better 10s or 8s than Foden, by the way. That team stinks.

Harry Maguire thinks he’s a far better footballer than he actually is. That whole first half he was trying to dictate play. Just pass to the midfielders ffs and get back in defence.

Some pretty poor takes on Rodri this morning. We’ve had 7 years out of him that very few players in history have replicated. He is one of our greatest ever players, and won absolutely everything for us. I’d love him to stay, but if he leaves, he leaves as a club legend.
