In my opinion, the Bible is a reference. Think of it this way. When you’re at work, your boss give’s you a new task to accomplish. You’ve never performed this task, so you go to an individual who has experience with this task. You use his teachings until you’re confident enough to put your own spin on the job you have to do. I feel that’s what the Bible is for life. It’s impossible to live accordingly to the Bible. Down to the very last letter. You won’t agree with everything, and if we’re being honest. If god is as forgiving, and just, and kind. I like to think that god has the common sense to understand not all sins are created equal.

atheists have the ability to objectively understand the bible because we aren't told what it means before we've read it, and we aren't told that the spirt will make it all good and moral is we just believe hard enough. we aren't trying to make it be something, we're just reading it for what it is.
