Yesterday, I was joined by industry leaders and producer groups in Saskatoon to highlight the new Canada-China trade agreement. This agreement will see the removal of tariffs from canola meal and peas, significantly reduce tariffs on Canadian canola seed, and is a deal that we can build on for our other industries like beef, pork, forestry, and energy. This is a good deal for Canada, which restores our trade with China to levels from a year ago. The agriculture sector is present in each and every province across this nation and is providing value and jobs in every province. The canola industry alone generates over $40 billion annually and supports 200,000 jobs across Canada. This result reinforces the importance of foreign trade missions, relationships, and shows what can be achieved when all level of governments and industry work together.

If you were to vote today, who would that vote go to become Canada’s next prime minister?

While our Parliament is dissolved the unelected 10-day-old caretaker PM of Canada just unilateraly declared our 157 year long relationship with the United States is over.

Very sad to see the disruption of supply chains and trade relationships built over many years for mutual benefits of both Canada and the US. Makes no sense at all farmpolicynews.illinois.edu/2025/03/canada…

We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true! Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada — AND NO TARIFFS!
