@_QSProductions @Variety A bullet went through the bodies of 2 crew members but to say the gun was pointed at them is misinformation. Got it. If the gun was pointed at the camera, the bullet would have struck the camera and perhaps camera operator.

@BrianMcquery @Variety What part of "I'm agreeing with you" do you not understand? I'll say it again: I. AM. AGREEING. WITH. YOU. You just don't like that I corrected misinformation. But since you just wanna be right, let's just end it here, shall we?

A judge has ordered Alec Baldwin to face a civil trial in October over whether he negligently fired a gun on the set of “Rust.” Baldwin’s manslaughter case was dismissed in July 2024 after a judge ruled prosecutors withheld evidence. However, he still faces several civil lawsuits tied to the October 2021 shooting in Santa Fe that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. variety.com/2026/film/news…

@_QSProductions @Variety If crew are standing behind the camera… you don’t point a gun there. This is basic set gun safety. DP & director can watch on a monitor out of line of fire. Camera can be operated remotely. You don’t point a gun towards crew, whether they are behind or next to camera or not.

@BrianMcquery @Variety He was pointing the gun at the camera. Both of them were behind the camera to see the angle. It was during rehearsals like I said, to set up blocking and camera angles. That is an objective fact. I agreed with you, all I did was correct common misinfo.

@_QSProductions @Variety The cinematographer was not operating the camera, she was looking at monitor with director behind her. Bullet went through both of them. No reason for Baldwin to point a gun at them. Ever. He knows better. If he was told to point gun there. He should first ask them to clear.

@BrianMcquery @Variety He was pointing it at the camera. The crew member that was tragically killed was the cinematographer. They were doing rehearsals and setting up scene blocking. THAT BEING SAID, everything else is spot on.

@CalebLangley99 @Variety Of course there should never be a live round. I was a 1st AD. There are redundant safety protocols & if Baldwin had followed any of them, there would be no tragedy. Instead he pointed a gun at crew members, which you NEVER do, pulled back the hammer & released it. Negligence.

@Variety Christ, leave Alec Baldwin alone. On a film set, actors rely on the armorer to handle and clear weapons, that’s literally the job. The gun should never have been loaded with a live round. Holding the actor solely responsible ignores how sets are supposed to operate.🤦

@Tim_D_Morrill I’m in the same boat. I made @PleaFilm. It played festivals, received awards, secured distribution and I’m proud of it. I have a pile of screenplays, but can’t get anything going.

I have one feature film under my belt and honestly, it's a great relief to have that, but getting the next one going has been more of a challenge that I expected. It's a lot of factors that are the reason, but I have myself to blame for it as well.

They could do a spinoff of THE PITT called NIGHTCRAWLERS with Sean Hatosy and the rest of the nightshift doctors.

@LukeBarnett Noah Wyle rules! I love THE PITT. I just hate how they screwed the Crichton estate and pretended that they created a brand new show in 72 hours. Life is complicated.

I equate Wyle's performance on this show to Hanks at the end of Captain Philips. As an actor, let me tell you, that's the hardest kind of of acting to do. The real, grounded, everything below the surface about to bubble over but you're trying to keep it together type of acting. I have tons of respect for the big swing, let's make it weird performances, but Noah Wyle is doing the kind of work that deserves the flowers it's constantly getting.
ScreenRant@screenrant

Actor Noah Wyle gives an emotionally raw and nuanced portrayal of a character struggling with depression in the latest episode of #ThePitt, delivering a standout performance in the series. Read our thoughts here: screenrant.com/the-pitt-seaso…

@andreaberting Sometimes it’s weird, sometimes it’s cool for both parties. I worked on a film directed by scream queen. 1 camera guy was working for free. I learned he was a huge fan of hers. I told her. She signed a photo & gave him some merch she sells at cons. He was thrilled. So was she.

I’m going to get to work with Nick Offerman this summer (!!!), do I ask him to sign a woodworking tool as a gift for my husband or is that incredibly weird?

EXCLUSIVE: Val Kilmer has been resurrected by AI to star in the new movie "As Deep as the Grave." Here's a first look at the film's trailer. Kilmer's digital return has the support of his daughter, Mercedes, who previously told Variety: "He always looked at emerging technologies with optimism as a tool to expand the possibilities of storytelling. This spirit is something that we are all honoring within this specific film, of which he was an integral part.” Watch the trailer here: wp.me/pc8uak-1lH9Yy

@therightram I was hired on a film being made by seemingly good people. I signed contract. Asked for a copy. When I received copy, totally different pages were attached to the page I signed! The end of previous page & top of signature page didn’t match up. Now I initial & date every page.

Corporations will never love you back. The people you work with and alongside are always fantastic. The machinery they're part of is heartless. I try to remind everyone who asks for career advice. You're not an employee - you're a contractor. Negotiate accordingly.

@LukeBarnett @yogoldsmith The deposit was larger than cast payroll for the entire feature. It was difficult to confirm they received it & was down to the wire for approval. I think they finally approved Fri before Mon start. And I had to chase them to get it back after all cast payroll was complete. 2/2

@LukeBarnett @yogoldsmith Assigning 3 reps during our 6 weeks of prep with rep 1 & 2 literally doing nothing with our paperwork for weeks was frustrating. Having to convince them we did not need a medic was frustrating. I’ve worked on much bigger indies with no medic. 1/2

If you call Film LA, the very first option is to report a production you think should be shut down for not having a permit. The third option is to try and get a permit. If you don't get your application in my 10am a week before the shoot, they will not process your application. Not 10:05, not 12pm. Must be in by 10am. When you speak to the person at Film LA, they truly sound like they don't even want you to shoot there. I hope whoever our next mayor is shuts down Film LA and makes it free and easy to get a permit. LA has the best crews, the best casts, the best weather. It shouldn't be cheaper and easier to fly to Oklahoma and shoot there than it is to shoot at home. It's time to bring filmmaking back to LA.
