Bill 60 is a vicious, one-sided tenancy legislation. It will cause widespread suffering and loss of life. Anyone who stays neutral is complicit. In this @TorontoStar article, I focus on why mayors should fight it. #ontpoli #cndpoli

Alberto is still waiting for $31,000 his boss owes him. He’s not alone.
Nearly $200 million in wages were stolen from Ontario workers, and most of it was never recovered.

We fought together & We won annual Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) for the #ONpoli minimum wage.
Still, $17.60 on Oct. 1 is not enough.
We need at least $20 an hour to start to bridging the gap.

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation also known as “Orange Shirt Day”. On this day, we honour the Indigenous children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities forever changed by colonial violence.
We call on workers and unions to continue the important solidarity work: defending land and water, supporting Indigenous workers, amplifying Indigenous voices in our unions, supporting Indigenous leadership, and demanding justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirt people.
The Ontario Federation of Labour recommits to that solidarity, today and every day.

We are one of hundreds of families whose child care is closed due to college strike.
@fordnation put us in this mess by underfunding colleges.

What a chaotic day! My daughter’s daycare is closed due to college strike.
I’m proud of her educators who are fighting for the future of colleges & services they provide.
Calling on @fordnation to fund colleges is part of broader need to fund child care & all public services!
