Zuckerberg's yacht once sailed 9,600 nautical miles, burned 676,800 liters of diesel, and waited two months in the South Pacific for him to show up.
He never came. It turned around and went home.
The vessel burns 1,165 gallons of diesel per hour at cruising speed. The carbon output of 630 cars running simultaneously. In nine months, it produced 5,300 tons of CO2, what 400 American households emit in an entire year.
Meta's sustainability report pledges net zero across their value chain by 2030. Zuckerberg's personal fleet (there's a $30 million support vessel that follows the yacht everywhere carrying submarines, helicopters, and water toys) produced more emissions on that single empty round trip than most people will generate in a lifetime.
The fuel tank holds 423,700 liters. A full fill costs about $230,000. Based on his 2024 wealth increase, Zuckerberg earns that in under 90 seconds.
Net zero is a line item in someone else's budget. It always was.

This 3,400-acre offgrid campus in Rwanda 🇷🇼 was built by 2,500 people from the earth beneath it.
Most people think building with earth means small, temporary, or weak.
This is a 2-storey, 69-building campus.
Built with rammed earth and earth blocks made from soil dug on site, strengthened to last and resist earthquakes.
Here is what that looks like:
• No artificial lighting during the day
• Thick walls that regulate temperature
• Mostly naturally ventilated spaces
• Runs entirely on solar, producing 1.5MW of power
• Wastewater is treated and reused for irrigation
But the architecture goes beyond performance.
• 90% of the workforce was local
• 96% of materials were sourced within Rwanda
• 90% of the budget stayed within 500 miles of the site
• Stone from local quarries reduced concrete use.
• Roofs were built with timber and terracotta tiles fired using agricultural waste.
This is not just sustainable design.
It is economic design.
It is design that works with nature.
It is design shaped by people and place.
Architecture that builds with people, not just for them.
Local materials are not a limitation. They scale. They perform. They work.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe says many African countries avoid bidding to host tournaments because they fear financial losses.
As a result, Morocco 🇲🇦 often steps in, even for less profitable events like the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations or futsal championships.
Motsepe said Morocco helps “save the situation” when no other bids are submitted. The country has strong infrastructure and a clear willingness to host.
While not always the only option, Morocco has become CAF’s most reliable partner for filling hosting gaps.

Simple, everywhere looks the same when you're in the middle of a desert.
The wind covers your footprints overnight also.
So in order for the travelers to not get lost, they sleep within the circle which serves as a compass, with their walking sticks pointing towards the direction they are headed, so once they wake up they continue in the direction the stick is pointing.
There might be other reasons but this is what a friend who once tried to enter Europe through the desert shared as an experience.

Hali halisi. Baadaye ulipoteuliwa kunirithi kuwa Waziri wa Ardhi tarehe 26.01.2015 nilikukabidhi ofisi kwa andiko maalum na matumaini makubwa ya kuendeleza flagship projects zilizokuwa katika hatua mbali mbali za utekelezaji: Kigamboni New City; DSM Masterplan; Makongo Juu Redevelopment Scheme; Wazo Hill/Bunju Resettlement program; Bagamoyo Eco Energy; Land Tenure programs mawilayani ikiwemo Loliondo Village Survey Project kukomesha migogoro na hata NHC Special Programs Audit ya miradi kama wa Kawe kujua ufanisi wake. nkd.
