@Need4Sneed14 @LnkMxwl @Spinegrinder117 @sigmarxism It wasn’t the plan to reveal the concept art, but the online bickering made them decide to reveal the art early. They don’t want to reveal any models or codex art yet so they showed off their concept art instead.

@The__Unyielding All the complaining did was make them announce something they were already working on way earlier than intended. Hence the sketches. The copyright says 2025 and was probably planned for release before even that. Complaining has never altered GW’s design and production schedule.

Just want to take a moment to acknowledge our effort. Our shit fitting did have an effect and I think that alone is something to have a bit of celebration. Taking a moment to enjoy some small victory to build strength for the next effort is what keeps people going.

People seem to be misinterpreting my words, I have no love for GW, fuck em. When I say aim your spite an vitriol in the right direction I mean GW not squabble amongst ourselves. I know they are only doing this because we threw a shitfit and if they had their way we'd shut up. I-

Take the small victories men. I see some people still bitching and their is still much ahead of us, but take this moment to feel it. Dont not be shamed for your tism. Bullying works. Just stay true, and aim your vitriol in the right direction. I'd hate for us to hinder ourselves.

@AndrewZ24597481 Unless he’s brought back through weird Warp or saint shenanigans I doubt he’ll get a model. He is actually dead and buried. But if there is anyone that could be believably brought back it would be Cain.

@feralmanlet @BattleSquire90 The setting of 11th edition is Armageddon and we have design sketches from 2025. GW has a planned release schedule and won’t change it due to internet drama.

@feralmanlet @BattleSquire90 It’s not, if complaining changed GW’s design and production schedule we’d have Sang Guard with wings right now. Steel Legion was planned but Yarrik is first since he’s more iconic.

@AsurmenLord Probably Karandras and Drastanta since they are the only Aspect Warrior units without Phoenix Lords right now. I’d also love an updated Dire Avengers kit. Maybe as a Killteam. That at least updated everything Aeldari. Anymore would just be gravy.

@Balam_GF13 @PrettyGood9630 @sigmarxism I mean, if anything it shows how long in advance they plan their release schedule if they had the Jet Bike design planned that far ahead. Kind of shows that the Steel Legion release isn’t being made because of any backlash. Just the announcement is.

@twahtskie @bread_nought Pretty sure they only animate units with actual plastic to sell. Steel Legion doesn’t right now but you need guard units in Yarrik’s trailer so you show the units with actual plastic you can buy.

@PrettyGood9630 @sigmarxism The Armageddon models aren’t ready to be released so they wouldn’t show up in the trailer. But you need to see guard forces in that trailer so they’ll show the guard units that actually have models. That’s why you don’t see Steel Legion and have an article on why others are seen.

@Need4Sneed14 @LnkMxwl @Spinegrinder117 @sigmarxism Because they aren’t ready to be released yet. They have a production schedule and Steel Legion is being released in 1-2 years or whenever the 11th Guard Codex is released. The Steel Legion models will be fully revealed when they want them to be revealed.

@100000000kills @EidolonDragon @sigmarxism They didn’t say “Most are gone now” they said there are “plenty of them about” but they’ve been reinforced by other regiments. The Steel Legion models aren’t ready yet so in Yarrik’s trailer you need to see guard units so you show the guard units that have models already.

Except the part where they also tried to justify the non-inclusion of the Steel Legionaries with a new lore tidbit of "Well...most are gone now!" So why design a new model line for them then? Why wasn't it always in place if Armageddon was gonna be a focus? It makes zero sense as a marketing choice.

@MatthewJHayter @sigmarxism If GW were able to change their production and design rollout because people complained we’d have Sang Guard with actual wings. You just didn’t see any Steel Legion in the trailer because they aren’t ready to release yet. You also won’t see art yet because it’s in the 11th codex.

@sigmarxism I think they've likely dug up an abandoned project after the backlash. All the official artwork, which doesn't have a quick turnaround, features Kreig. Let's see how quickly they release art for SL with the current 11th ed Blood Angels

@The__Unyielding The only thing that GW did under pressure was releasing concept art for models they were already making. The sketches are from 2025 and people were mad over nothing.

@Gildarts_is_op @PelegaPlays @EaterOfBrushes The sketches are dated 2025 so probably not. I don’t think we really know how long it takes. If they do have models ready I imagine they only want to show them when they release the next Guard Codex.

@LondonVoxCaster I imagine it’s like the Piranna for the Tau. It scouts forward, moves very fast into the enemy lines and tries to his something very hard before dying. Though this looks a bit more tanky, maybe T9 since Armored Sentinels are T8

@hammer_star @EaterOfBrushes I’m betting A. The trailer is for Yarrik, he’s got a model so they’ll show him. Steel Legion’s models aren’t ready yet so they’ll wouldn’t show them animated yet. I don’t think GW would completely change their design and release schedule because of backlash. Example: Sang Guard

@EaterOfBrushes There’s two options for what happened: A: They planned from the start to give us Steel Legion and didn’t want to make models for the animation (bad PR choice). B: This is direct response to the criticism, which would be kinda cool that they actually decided to listen.

@PelegaPlays @EaterOfBrushes I don’t think GW has ever completely uprooted their design and release schedule due to backlash. The setting is Armageddon, Steel Legion is there. They just didn’t show anything in Yarrik’s trailer because the models weren’t ready.

@EaterOfBrushes They always intended to extinct them, I just think they had zero idea how popular steel legion. Concept art but no models or videos? Damage control to show that concept art is all, but glad they will eventually, maybe, perhaps, one year, come out in plastic.
