TL;DR: Our preprint was 1ST to report association btwn #AAV2 & hepatitis cases, found on metagenomic sequencing in 9/9 early 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿cases vs 0/58 controls. #adenovirus found in 6/9 cases. Cases also >likely to carry HLA DRB1*04:01 allele (8/9; 89%) vs 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿blood donors (16%) 2/

Cases (n=9): - admitted 14 March-4 April 22 - recruited to @CCPUKstudy - 4 male; median age 3.9 (IQR 3.4-5.1) - most had GI symptoms 1-11 wks b4 hepatitis - no immunocompromise - none had covid 💉 - Hep A-E, EBV/CMV, HHV6/7, HSV, autoantibodies neg - no transplants/ deaths 2/

Timely release of our latest @CCPUKstudy study, led by @LanceTurtle, evaluating impact of #immunocompromise (IC) on outcome in hospitalised #COVID19. TL;DR: Despite effective 💉& Rx, IC individuals remain at ⬆️ risk of death from COVID19 compared to immunoconpetent persons.
