As LGBTQ Ugandans, we are not asking for special treatment or privileges. We simply ask to live free from fear, harm, and death because of who we are. I am gay, and there are many others like me. However, because of the fear they carry, they cannot come forward. If they did, many would lose their jobs, their families, and everything they have built in their lives.
