Spanish media cherry picked the Rodri interview and now half of the fanbase have said he didn’t deserve the ballon d’or

I took 4 minutes from Rodri's 50-minute interview (auto-dubbed in English). First, I'm sorry for the way I reacted about him. Second, the media is a very bad thing. They really picked certain lines and created a false narrative.

I keep seeing Manchester City fans now say Rodri didn’t deserve the Ballon d’Or? You are annoyed at what he said, I get it. I’m annoyed as well. The way he spoke about Real Madrid wasn’t needed. But don’t start rewriting history. A week ago you would have said that, that season he was the best midfielder in the world, the most important player in our team, the one who made everything tick. That doesn’t suddenly disappear because of one interview? He won the Ballon d’Or based on performances across the season. Big games, consistency, control… all of it. That’s already done. That’s fact. You can be disappointed in him and still accept he deserved it. Two things can be true at once. Yes, what he said was wrong. No one’s denying that. But it makes no sense seeing the same people now posting stuff like this, when last week you would have been calling him a legend and praising everything he did that season.
