🇪🇺 Am 1. Juli verschwindet #Tether von jeder regulierten Börse in Europa. Da wurde nichts gehackt und nichts verbockt. Tether hat schlicht keine MiCA-Lizenz beantragt, Circle schon. Also fliegt $USDT raus, Coinbase Europe schränkt es heute schon ein, und der USDC-Emittent übernimmt das Feld. Bei CT klingt das nach einem sauberen Sieger-Trade. Regulierung hat die Schienen gewählt, Circle gewinnt, fertig. Die Geschichte erzählt sich gerade fast von alleine. Mich beschäftigt eine andere Frage, und ich werde sie nicht los. MiCA war als Schutzwall gedacht. Europa wollte seinen Stablecoin-Markt sicherer machen und ein Stück Unabhängigkeit vom Dollar zurückholen. Das Ergebnis ist, dass die Liquidität jetzt von einem intransparenten US-Emittenten zu einem zentral kontrollierten US-Emittenten wandert. Vorher Tether, jetzt Circle. Beides amerikanische Firmen. Europa hat dazwischen nichts Eigenes gebaut. Und genau das ist der Punkt. Die EU reguliert, weil sie nie eine eigene Schiene hingestellt hat. Wer selbst kein Produkt hat, dem bleibt nur die Regel - und die Regel verschiebt am Ende nur, welcher Amerikaner die europäischen Zahlungswege besitzt. Der härteste Beleg steckt im Euro selbst. Alle Euro-Stablecoins zusammen kommen auf rund 0,6 Mrd. USD. Das sind etwa 0,2 Prozent des gesamten Stablecoin-Marktes. Der Rest läuft in Dollar. Und der größte Euro-Stablecoin, $EURC, ist ein Circle-Produkt. Eine US-Firma gibt unter französischer Lizenz einen digitalen Euro aus. Was dabei wie europäische Souveränität aussieht, ist in Wahrheit nur eine geliehene Genehmigung, die Brüssel jederzeit über den Atlantik zurückgereicht werden kann. Im selben Fenster startet Circle seine eigene Settlement-Chain. Damit gehört dem amerikanischen Emittenten am Ende beides, der Coin und die Schiene darunter, auf der er abgewickelt wird. Das ist die Zementierung des Dollars - sauber verpackt als europäischer Verbraucherschutz. Meine Prognose für die nächsten zwölf bis vierundzwanzig Monate: Europa wird das Problem erkennen und mit dem digitalen Euro gegensteuern wollen - zu spät, weil die privaten Dollar-Schienen dann längst festgewachsen sind. Die Lücke füllt am Ende Bitcoin, weil es das einzige Geld ist, das keine Lizenz und keinen Emittenten braucht. Wenn du eine andere Lesart hast, schreib sie mir. Ich lass mich gern vom Gegenteil überzeugen.
