@IlliniJen @Brandon45164392 Why not build these data centers near the ocean and give each data center it’s own Desalination plant?

Don’t hold your breath, Illinois.
Joliet approved that massive data center and shut down public comment the second the vote passed. Your voice is officially silenced.
Pritzker paused those tax incentives over the ridiculous electricity costs and grid strain.
Yet local councils still ram these deals through with zero real resident input on power draw, water use, noise, traffic or farmland loss by the Speedway.
Truly peak transparency.

In 1997, a horse unexpectedly joined a cycling race after spotting the riders—and ended up outrunning them to the finish.
The moment unfolded during the Critérium International near Toulouse in southwestern France. As the peloton passed, the horse bolted from a nearby field, galloping alongside the cyclists for several kilometers.
It finally veered away with about 20 km left, but not before briefly “leading” the stage, much to the amazement of spectators and riders alike. The actual race was won by Marcelino García of the ONCE team.

Markets are reacting to a risk of a global LNG crisis, which is much worse than an oil shock.
An oil shock is quickly solved by non-OPEC supply, alternatives, and flexible systems. LNG is only 15% of the total gas market but very tight in supply and much more challenging to solve, adding to the problems of regasification and storage.
