I think my approach when a pitcher throws both a 4 seam and a cutter is to ignore the cutter and hope he can’t land it. I’d rather get good swings off on the 4 seam than try and hit two pitches I can’t tell the difference on. Plus, I’d rather be early on the cutter and pull it foul or rope it down the line than get beat over top by a four seam or pop it up bc I couldn’t get the barrel out.
