Huge supply of brownfield sites in London, but to prioritise developer profit, Crews Hill will go. We need to address how unhealthy it is to demolish local amenities and businesses build more and more housing that has next to no supporting infrastructure.

I'd suggest that your view of the intention behind the post is (clearly) influenced by devastation, and as such, you are misinterpreting Oliver's gist.
The 'news' has been duplicitous with the data, numbers and reality on the ground. Which is hideous considering the consequences. Not to negate the seriousness of the disease, the numbers this year are not out of normal with every year before.
