I know no one is going to read this. But this is from the heart.
I saw this video and it struck a nerve because of my cult background and history of abuse. Please watch it.
This video shares the same erroneous belief than Scientology.
"ANYTHING bad that has happened to you, happened because YOU wanted it to happen."
The three months old baby abused by her father WANTED to be abused. Do you see the abomination that is this statement?
Where both cults differ is that this guy in the video provides a seemingly "reasonable" explanation as to why you may need abuse and trauma to "ascend".
And this is what I want to discuss here. Because so many of us are hurting and are trying to heal or have had a lengthy healing process at some point in our lives.
Most of us strive to be better people. So we are always looking for answers.
It took me a while to understand that the quote "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" shares the wrong message.
Too many practices share that in order to "ascend" spiritually or be better and stronger as a person, your life MUST have pain or abuse.
No one escapes pain in life. This is a fact.
But I do draw the line where horrendous abuse perpetrated by others is sold as the only way to be made into a strong and a better person.
Although it looks like it, what cult Gurus accidentally admit is that it is the act of healing which is what makes us stronger and better. Why? Because healing is difficult.
This is what builds a person. Doing anything in life that is DIFFICULT. Not trauma.
You want to "ascend" as a person. Take something you've never done before and that is difficult and do it. And keep doing it until you get amazing at it.
There is absolutely ZERO need for anyone to be abused and experience trauma for them to learn self reliance, self confidence and self worth etc...
Trauma and abuse hinders "ascension" (or whatever you want to call it) in a person. The only thing that comes of it is that the person WILL be forced to heal which is something that is difficult to do and as a result, they will grow from HEALING. Not from the abuse and trauma. Sometimes people don't make the healing process and get stuck.
I want anyone who comes across teachings like this to be weary of its messages. Where victims of abuse and trauma are told that they're the cause of what was done to them.
It is never your fault if you have been abused. It is the fault of the abuser. One hundred percent of the time.
But it is your responsibility to heal eventually. In your own time because you staying at the victimhood frequency isn't going to do you any good. Abuse and trauma hinders your progression.
It never facilitates it.
If you want to be a better person or ascend spiritually, pick something you're not good at and that is difficult and start doing it, over and over again. Face your fears because that's difficult. Dream big and ambitiously and start making it a reality. Because that's difficult. Practice discipline. Because it is difficult.
And you WILL "ascend". You will find purpose and be better.
Never ever give accreditation of your new found strength to abusers because they took it from you to start with. They made you take one or more steps backwards. Not forward. The reason why you are strong is because of you. Because YOU escaped the frequency they were happy to drag down you to.
Abuse and trauma break people.
You will find answers, enlightement and strength through love, healing and doing difficult things. As cliché as it sounds.
For most people, the hardest thing we have had to do is heal. And we have had to do this against our will. But we would have had the chance to learn the same lessons through doing something that is difficult, through love.
Do not fall for abuser's lack of accountability tactics like this. The only people who benefit from you thinking that bad things done to you, being your fault, are abusers.
