Ahora mismo, la única barrera que me impide pasarme 100% a Linux es encontrar una alternativa a Photoshop.

@C_SolisC @Migueel0_space @nosedejava @guinxu No sé hace cuantos años, pero GIMP hoy en día permite hacer ambas cosas. Creo que más bien la gente que no sabe usar GIMP es la que piensa que no es una verdadera alternativa

@Migueel0_space @nosedejava @guinxu iba a poner lo mismo, usé gimp hace años y no se podía cambiar la resolución de una imagen, tampoco me dejaba trabajar imagenes para impresión (cmyk) de ahi no lo volví a usar

@guinxu GIMP es bastante bueno, es lo que yo uso para trabajar. La versión 2.10 se quedaba un poco atrás, hasta Krita tenía más opciones de edición, pero ya van por la 3.2 y han sido actualizaciones importantes, lo único sería la curva de apredizaje. Photopea también funciona muy bien

@Cheesecrab1 @5ro4 quizás tiene que ver con algo de los drivers, Nvidia si tiene o del formato en el que tenga el disco duro, permisos, softwares instalados. Hace medio año que estoy metido en lo de Linux por lo que tampoco puedo hablar tanto, pero basado en mi experiencia quizás es algo de eso

I installed Linux Mint. Spent a couple of days tinkering to get some Windows functionality such as being able to configure my mouse or having Super + V bring up the clipboard history. The 3rd day I did some work, then attempted to play indie games on stream and the dream died.

@KydeHyle @5ro4 Mint es de los linux más estables, que por cierto yo uso. Yo no tengo cámara así que ni idea, pero me parece super extraño su problema con proton

@5ro4 Por qué Mint y no CachyOS? Yo empecé probando Pop_Os pero el Desktop Environment ese Cosmic que tienen iba como una patada en la boca, me pasé a CachyOS y como lo usbaba dual boot con windows y la librería de Steam estaba en un disco formateado en formato windows daba conflictos

Proton on Steam didn't work for some reason, "compatibility tool failed". A panel of Linux users troubleshooted my system live for 2 hours but were unable to fix it or find the cause. Also, the webcam was increasingly laggy, but we didn't try to fix it.

@Cheesecrab1 alt-right-drag already changes brush size & GIMP has perspective transforms (although not perspective guides). We get a lot of “what [some class of users] need most is...’ but its rarely based on a large sample set, e.g. asking 5,000 users. Thanks for filing requests, it helps.

@GIMP_Official How about the UX ? That's the biggest shortcoming in GIMP. A ton of time wasted clicking on menus & submenus.

@GIMP_Official GIMP already has pretty powerful painttools, but there are improvements that will remain in the GIMPux section until someone (with time/skill) wants to work on it! Like UX#796 or 538 I know many of you are volunteers, that why I'm just waiting, and I thank you!

@GIMP_Official Well, I've opened some issues on GitLab regarding the features I think digital artists need most (IMHO), such as perspective tools (something like PaintTools Sai(?) or Krita), and the ability to change the brush size incrementally using the Alt+right-click shortcut, for details.

@GIMP_Official It's just a joke because version 3.2 just came out! Still, I hope someone in the GIMP community feels like working on drawing features.
