Fort Collins saw it's hottest March day ever recorded (since 1893) at 91F, surpassing yesterday's record (89F). Incredibly, this is 2 degrees above APRIL's hottest recorded temperature (89F, April 30, 1992). The city hadn't recorded a March high above 81F prior to 2026. #COwx

Before #March19 and #March20, the earliest in the year it had been 105° @PHXSkyHarbor was April 20 ! #Phoenix beat that by more than a month during the current, historic #heatwave that will see a fourth consecutive day of triple-digit heat today. @hbwx @JoeMurgo @TenaciousTopper

Good stuff here. I actually did pretty well with my forecast for the winter here. I predicted well below average temps for Jan and February bu did go about average for Dec and it was well below! As for snow I went 13-20”, so I almost made my low end, but not quite.

Now that we've declared winter over, let's look back it! Some cool stats: * Coldest Dec-Feb since 2002-03; first time Dec, Jan, and Feb were all colder than normal since 2009-2010. * If no more snow falls, the total in DC of 10.6" would be 3.1" below normal. But snow was on the ground longer than normal because of combo of Snowcrete and cold. * Midwest Regional Climate Center rated it a "severe" winter on its scale, level 4 out of 5, mainly because of the cold and long-lasting snow cover.

107 in #Phoenix today would beat the monthly record by 7 degrees. The odds of that happening on any given March is roughly 1-in-8500!! Now this is based on the entire period of record. It is of course much more likely today due to climate change. #heatwave

Today’s high of 43° @Reagan_Airport was not only a far cry from DC’s average #March17 high of 57°, but is more typical of mid-January. DC’s coldest average high temperature is 44° from January 14 – 19, according to NOAA. tinyurl.com/mucubu84 #StPatricksDay @TenaciousTopper

What stood out to me most about that March, however, was how DC’s total of 12.7” made it the snowiest March in #WashingtonDC since 1960.
