Why would go through all of that spartan augs just to betray the closest thing he had to a family? His Squad. Buck is more interesting then the MC cause Buck isn't walking plot armor.

@Whydoesthissite Did it "recharacterize" Mickey or just flesh out what minimum was there in ODST? Because none of the characters in ODST had deep characterization except Buck and that was barely. Like with Master Chief, the games exist mostly for gameplay, and the books exist to expand character.
