It has been the honor of a lifetime to represent the people of Provo in the Utah House of Representatives for the past 4 years. I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together to advance policies that make Utah a stronger & safer place for families. Some key efforts included: • Reformed Utah’s homelessness services system and expanded recovery-focused programs • Strengthened victims’ rights & enhanced public safety. • Improved mental health crisis response & expanded street medicine access • Expanded the free school lunch program for the 1st time in 25 years • Created a scholarship fund for the children of police officers, firefighters, & EMT’s who are killed in the line of duty • Promoted upward mobility through permitting reform and workforce initiatives • Stood up for the men & women who have built our roads, housing, & infrastructure and advocating for good jobs. As I start a new chapter tomorrow, I just wanted to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me & mentored me through these important moments! 🇺🇸

My understanding is that private donations are welcome alongside state funding in this new fund to improve police investigations. If you are in a position to contribute, consider doing so! I’m looking forward to learning from what Utah law enforcement tries in this space - what works best to solve more crimes, faster. (A portion of the funds will even be distributed to departments via a fair lottery!) Congrats and huge thanks to @Clancy4Utah for his leadership on this issue.

Huge congratulations to @Clancy4Utah, a true servant leader, whose bill to try to improve violent crime clearance rates, cleared the Utah Senate this afternoon and is on its way to the governor. As to the old workhorse/showhorse saw, there's no doubt what type of lawmaker he is.

It’s been a true honor to work with @KevinARing , @jenniferdoleac , @mlpeeb , Jason Olin , Greg Newburn, @KatieStahlROC & so many more on this initiative. We also secured $300K to seed the fund, which will absolutely make a difference for Utah families. @NiskanenCenter

The Senate passed HB 137, which funds training for detectives who investigate violent crime, the witness protection program, better technology for law enforcement, & cold case reviews. Thank you to Darcie Housley and so many other Utah families who took the time to speak out & share their stories.

Excellent news for Utahns. Parks and downtowns should be safe for families, not hubs for drug use. Helping people get treatment for substance abuse is key to making public spaces safer for everyone.

I’m proud to announce my priority legislation has passed the Senate unanimously. HB 205 creates more tools to protect our public spaces from disorder & help people heal from addiction. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

I have been getting all the email updates, listening to the audio and following it closely. Congrats to you and everyone that made it possible. The people that go to & care for Taufer Park, Richmond Park and all the other parks appreciate this and have needed it so badly for so long. I am working daily on keeping Taufer and a Richmond under control….it has been slowly and steadily improving for a while and I’m not going to stop…if anything, I’ll go harder so there is no backsliding 🙂

Street medicine meets people where they are, and helps them move along the pathway to human dignity. The senate unanimously passed HB 339 & it now goes to Governor Cox for his signature. ✅🏨

The loss of six American service members during the ongoing war with Iran is a heartbreaking reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed forces. These brave patriots answered their nation’s call and gave their lives in defense of our country and the security of the free world. My thoughts and prayers are with their families, loved ones, and fellow service members during this time of profound grief. As a Americans, we must never forget the courage, dedication, and selflessness that define those who wear our nation’s uniform. apnews.com/article/us-sol…

The Pentagon has released the names of four U.S. Army Reserve soldiers killed during the ongoing war with Iran. They were among six who died when an Iranian strike hit a tactical operations center in Kuwait. They were all assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command based in Des Moines. The Pentagon said the incident is under investigation. "Our nation is kept safe by folks like these brave men and women who put it all on the line every single day. They represent the heart of America," Maj. Gen. Todd Erskine, commanding general the 79th Theater Sustainment Command, said in a statement. We will remember their names, their service, and their sacrifice."

This situation isn't about punishment, it's about balance. Individuals were given time to leave and information about resources that can help them move toward stability. When they chose to remain on private property without permission, officers were required to act to protect the rights of the property owner. Compassion includes helping people access services and ensuring community members aren’t displaced from their own property.

Utah is putting $44M behind the nation's boldest approach to homelessness. Other states should be taking notes. This overhaul targets chronic homelessness, pairs treatment with accountability, and requires cities and counties to match funding 1:1. It definitively rejects the failed policies that have led to record-breaking levels of homelessness. @GovCox really is making Utah "the worst place in the country to camp on the street – and the best place to get help."

57 seconds. This whole incident is tragic, but the sole reason it wasn’t worse was because APD officers responded and were on scene in seconds. Patrol officers and CAST (team of APD officers and ATCEMS paramedics together) moved with incredible speed to stop the killing. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this both victims and family. The utterly amazing statistic in this all is that when seconds count - officers ran towards the gunfire and were there in 57seconds. That’s a heroic speed.

Kudos for Commissioner Jessie Tisch. The first obligation of a leader is to stand up for and advocate for those you lead when they are in the right. Jessie is clearly a leader for the men and women of the NYPD. nypost.com/2026/02/27/us-…

In Los Angeles County, the permitting approval process is raising the price of vacant land by FIFTY PERCENT. This is the kind of premium that comes with an oceanfront view or adding a pool. Genuinely shocking. (h/t @esoltas) theargumentmag.com/p/stop-calling…
