@_Deez_Games It's not L1+square to jump. It's square to jump. L1+square is another option if you want to be certain of exactly where you're jumping. It's literally just an extra QOL feature and you're acting like it's a fundamentally broken feature of the game

Crimson Desert first impressions: ✅️ Visuals - Stunning ✅️ world feels fully alive. Hustle and bustle in towns, everyone talking, everyone reacting - all very cool 😒 Combat - Fine, serviceable ❌️ Story & Characters - totally uninspiring and basic. Every conversation so far has been dull and emotionless, though I do enjoy how homo-erotic it all is 😂 ❌️ Controls - Messy. L1 + Square to jump? Guy runs like a mental patient. Radial menus not great, finicky. Nothing feels intuitive, like holding start and using d-pad to use quick menu ❌️ Learning things is a nice idea, just not a fan of standing still & staring at everything for 3 seconds to do so So far I'm feeling quite... meh, about it. I'll play more of course but I'm not excited to do so. I feel like the real enjoyment will kick in once the traversal options set in, like dragons and jetpacks. I'm only a few hours in, so hopefully it picks up soon, but it currently feels like a visually and mechanically impressive, but boring, updated Skyrim.

Reading through the steam reviews is the biggest ragebait I've ever had to endure because if you have even a moderately functioning frontal lobe, you will get to grips with the controls in less than 2 hours MAX

If Crimson Desert had a silent protagonist like Link it would be AT LEAST an 85 on metacritic and I'm not even joking. Cliff just unequivocally sucks ass.

This is accurate. But was Link interesting to anybody? Or does he just have nice hair? People are looking at this game all wrong, man. It's literally just a love letter to breath of the wild and an amazing one at that.

Almost every single review/preview I've seen of Crimson Desert said that the first 8~ hours are painful. I'm so far wondering if a game has ever lived up to my (unrealistically high) expectations quite as easily as this game already has in the 5 hours I've played. I love it.

@ClinchWizard @GermanStrands Reviewers have always largely been a bunch of hacks. I found some of my old mags from the 90s a while back. Could probably find some nuggets from back then in those. Thought that then, too. Reviewers gave KCD low scores because there isn't magic and dragons. Clowns.

Games with little to no handholding are a massive win imo.
