Got to meet fellow MIHS and @MIHSBoysHoops alum @joelmchale today as he emceed the Breakfast of Champions fundraiser. A down to earth dude who hasn’t forgotten where he came from! Asked about the team and said he wants to come to a game. Let’s make it happen!

@b0wman_chris @TyDaneGonzalez How many years does it take Jerry to figure out that Mitch Garver isn’t working for us? 3-4 years and still doesn’t see it?
English

@TyDaneGonzalez Giving my two cents since I actually had the opportunity to speak to Dipoto directly last week:
Dipoto mentioned that him and Dan sit down for an hour before each game to gake plan and he suggested that decisions are scripted in advance - Dan only goes off script in extreme case
English

Dan Wilson isn't THE reason the Mariners have lost a lot of these games, and it'd be lazy of me to say otherwise, but his decisions have still been a big part of the story.
He has unquestionably failed to put his guys in the best position to succeed with consistency, which, as far as in-game managing goes, is his only task.
English

@Mariners Same story. Remove Raley in the 6th for Refsnyder. No one on and one out. Then you have Refsnyder and not Raley (our best hitter) against a good righty in the 8th with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Not to mention the Leguimina experience. This is bad!
English

@Mariners If you’re gonna obsess over platooning lefty/righty please invest in better players to platoon! Just rolling out any right handed and hoping it works out is a sign of an unserious franchise.
English

@Mariners Are Rivas, Refsnyder and Garver honestly better options against lefties? How much more evidence do we need that this isn’t working? Fans deserve an explanation. Also if we’re upset about it I’m guessing the clubhouse is too.
English

@cougsgo You don’t sub him out in the 6th no matter what. He would have come up again in the 8th against a righty. He is one of our best players. Period.
English

Easy to second guess in hindsight, but pinch-hitting Connor Joe for a guy who got four hits last night? I know you’d tell me that Raley struggles against lefties, but I’d tell you in this case anyway, I’m sick of following the percentages every damn time. #GoCougs
English

@Mariners Ok…Luke Raley, arguably our best hitter so far this season, and mashing in this series, is subbed out for Connor Joe in the 6th with the bases loaded, 2 outs and the Padres on the ropes?…but in the 8th, Connor Joe stays in to face a righty? Who is Connor Joe by the way?
English

@Mariners Why is Connor Joe subbing for Luke Raley, our best hitter this season, with bases loaded in 6th inning? Please allow Dan Wilson to explain.
English

Super happy for our @MIHSBoysHoops assistant coach, Shea Robinson, for going into the Seattle Prep Hall of Fame last week! Shea was an incredible player and leader and he brings those attributes and more to coaching. Lucky to sit next to this guy every game!

Excited for this group of kids! Winners! Congrats to the players and coaches.

What a run for Mercer Island 8th Grade ETL. ✅ Regular season conference champs — 4 straight years ✅ ETL Gold Tournament Champions again this weekend ✅ Gold tourney title winners 3 of the last 4 years Now it’s on to Spokane with a chance for a State Gold Division three-peat!

Ed Pepple Court loading…
Well deserved for the Pepple family. Excited to work on this court every day. What an inspiration for @MIHSBoysHoops. Thank you @mercerislandsd and everyone who helped this process forward!

@iJordanMoore Winning is more dramatic when the game or series is close. The Seahawks were dismantling the Patriots and it was clear all night they were going to win. Mike Macdonald is also an introvert. Baseball is always dramatic because the game can flip in a short time with baserunners.
English

Maybe it’s just me… but winning championships doesn’t feel the same anymore.
The celebrations feel quieter. Less emotional. Players and coaches don’t seem to explode with joy the way they used to.
Yeah, every game and moment is different but watching teams like the Seahawks and Thunder celebrate this past year… it didn’t even feel like they just won a world title.
We used to see pure chaos. Guys leaping into each other’s arms. Tears. Screaming iconic lines like “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!”
That raw, unforgettable emotion used to define championships. Now it feels… muted and different.
I’ll thread some video examples for reference.
