@Buster_ESPN How did the GM of the Boston Red Sox not build a lineup with competent right handed bats meant for Fenway Park?

The Red Sox are looking for a right-handed hitter, but as rival execs note, it's a really tough fix to make it on the fly. There are very few options available for a legit RH hitter this early unless you are willing to overpay, and assuming it's a 2B or 3B, then the FO will have to wave the white flag to some degree with Durbin, who was such an important part of the FO vision.

If you haven’t watched Georgia Tech’s catcher Vahn Lackey play, you’re missing out. He’s one of the best college baseball players I’ve ever seen. I would give up a lot to draft him if I were a MLB GM.

𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍!! Vahn Lackey connects for his 3rd HR in 5 ABs this tournament! His 18th of the season puts us up early 😤 392 ft / 104 EV / 19.5 degrees 📺 ACC Network #StingEm🐝 x #WreckHavoc

Whatever happened to those baseball figurines we used to collect as a kid? I miss those things. The type of nostalgia that makes me miss my childhood.

Crazy AL East fact: Every team in the division has reached a World Series against the Dodgers since the Orioles last won a playoff game. 2025: Dodgers beat Blue Jays 2024: Dodgers beat Yankees 2020: Dodgers beat Rays 2018: Red Sox beat Dodgers 2014: Orioles last playoff win

@iJordanMoore @awally8 If you're going to have a list like this, then it needs to include schools that were offered a bowl spot but declined it.

@awally8 Yep. Only Alabama, Georgia, Miami (FL), Ohio State and Yale would be the list if we’re just talking about who also made the CFP playoff and FCS playoff.

College athletics is so crazy now. Cal baseball, a team located on the Pacific coast but somehow in the ACC, flew to Charlotte, North Carolina for a single-elimination conference tournament game against Stanford… a school 90 minutes from their campus. They traveled 2,715 miles across the country to play a regional rival, lost one game, then had to hop on a 5.5-hour flight back to California 😂

@JacksonBig12 @gin_clair Honestly a perfect way to describe it 😂 Only, you’d do that in travel ball to play at a field built in 1832 and no chalk lines.

@LJMaximo They’re gonna go back eventually. They’re gonna have to for financial purposes.

@iJordanMoore It really is dumb. Pro sports rarely have that kind of travel.

@DepressedCalFan incorrect. Cal initially took a massive financial cut. They agreed to a dramatically reduced media rights share of roughly 30% for its first seven years in the conference to secure their spot. They are not making money in the ACC and will not anytime soon.

@iJordanMoore cal made about $50m more in revenue than osu. even factoring in the extra costs of the acc, cal made tens of millions more than they would’ve in the pac along with having way more exposure. but sure, the pac is better financially.

@iJordanMoore @DepressedCalFan In Cal’s final year in the Pac-12, the athletic department spent $10.3 million on team travel. In its first year in the ACC, that jumped to about $14.3 million. So a $4 million increase. And we’re making $16 million more in the ACC. This isn’t that hard.

@GhostofGarbers @LJMaximo Cal makes $16M more in the ACC than Pac 12 but spent $14.3 million on team travel during its first year in the ACC.

@iJordanMoore @LJMaximo I implore you to actually do your homework on what Cal’s finances are in the ACC vs Pac-12 and then come back to me. ACC brings in more on a net basis and it’s not even close. These takes are just lazy.
