The simplest path I know to get rich.... - Buy a boring business from a retiring boomer - Use an SBA loan or seller financing - Add a website, social, reviews - Raise your prices - Use the cash flow to buy the next one - Repeat

My husband once said four words to me that made my worldview flip on never missing a chance to see a loved one: “Measure in times, not years.” If your parents are 65, it’s not 20 or 30 years you might have with them, it’s maybe 20 or 30 visits you get with them. One in four Americans don’t live in the same hometown as their family. How would you change your decisions if you’d only get to see your loved ones for 20 or 30 more days? You’d change everything to be with them, wouldn’t you? Same if it was six months. And yet when those days are separated by years we let them slide through our fingers. Next time don’t count the years, remember the days... and treasure them.

Underrated idea... the most productive thing you can do is have fun, love your life, and be unapologetic about it.

How to know if a business is worth buying: 1. Is there recurring revenue? 2. Has there been profit for 3+ years? 3. Is it in defensive industry? (aka will it still exist in 10 years or get automated?) If all three are true, it’s worth considering. (don’t get your hopes up just yet though... you can always find skeletons in the closet in DD)

You'll make more money being: - shameless - outrageous - unhinged - relentless - obsessed So ignore people who make fun of your edge.
