There’s a difference between writing and doing a writing prompt. Most classrooms run on prompts. Real writers run on purpose.

@DanaPalubiak Writing prompts deny young writers the opportunity to develop their thinking. Choice and the growth of agency are shut down. It's a compliance mechanism administered by teachers who themselves are often non writers.
