@BeenThereCap This is why the argument of “we shouldn’t be spending money on Ukraine” doesn’t make any sense. The US is spending a small % of GDP (much of which is going back to US companies) to wreak havoc on Russia’s economy/military. It’s a massively positive ROI

My Russia/Ukraine thesis from Day 1 has been that the U.S. would drag out the war to sap Russian resources (of all kinds) because (1) we can, US+EU GDP is ~20x Russia's, time is on our side, (2) weakening Russia is a more important U.S. goal than freeing Ukraine.

I'd bet that the returns of the stock pitches rejected by VIC, MicroCapClub, etc are pretty similar to the ones accepted

@Blue_Velvet_Cap For specific niches I think it can be true (small/microcap stocks listed anywhere and special sits) and quality of writers is continuing to improve. But requires a lot more filtering (average blogger <<< average sell-sider)

The biggest problem of venture capital right now is we have made entrepreneurship too safe a career path. Starting a company should be for the crazy, for the obsessed. Instead, it is for the rational. Leave top tier university, raise VC. Own your own time, work on something interesting and pay yourself well. We need to go back to the ones who only do this because they cannot bare to not see their creation in the world.
