@CraggerRagger @5liveSport @razzgm @alanshearer VAR came in to remove the howler from the game. It didn't come in to disallow goals for a player being a cm offside or a foul on the halfway line. Unfortunately, as was predicted by many, one person's view of clear and obvious is very different to someone else's.

@Utdtruthful Evanilson went fown easier than amad who is half his size Also, the fact everyone in the media completely ignores every decision that goes against united is getting really fucking irritating

🚨🗣️ Mike Dean [former PL referee]: “They will complain but they didn't complain when Dalot wasn't sent off in the Manchester derby. “I think the two incidents are completely different. Maguire is a dead cert, it's a simple decision. It's easy - it's a sending-off all day. “The first one could have been a penalty but there was doubt about how he went down - that's why he hasn't given it. I could see why he didn't give it. And I can see why it's referee's call. “I understand they have made a complaint but you have to backtrack as well because they have had a few calls [in their favour] this year that have gone on referee's call.” #MUFC [Soccer Saturday]

Still annoyed at our result on friday but the fact we've moved away from both liverpool and chelsea after today is still a decent result Just frustrating that we should be looking at an 8 and 9 point gap now rather than a 6 and 7 point gap

@tedio74 The problem is there being absolutely no accountability or punishment for the officials If atwell can't see that's a clear pen from where he was standing, he shouldn't be reffing games. Regardless of whether VAR is being used or not

Attwell didn't wave the Amad penalty appeal away, I'm convinced he was going to give the pen, but then thought he'd just leave it for VAR to decide, thus letting B'mouth break away. This is part of the problem now, so many Refs taking the lazy option of leaving it to inept VAR 🤡s
Alex Shaw@AlexShawTel

There is absolutely no conspiracy against, or for, any team in the Premier League and to believe so is ludicrous. But what cannot be denied is that we are going through the worst-ever run of referee/Var etc errors. It's never been this bad.

Stuart Attwell was ALSO responsible for IGNORING this stamp from Walker on Dorgu in January. Clear RED CARD! This ref is beyond incompetent! 😡

@henrywinter @maxwoody84 'United have benefitted from decisions gone in their favour this season' Brentford- Collins not sent off for clear DOGSO Arsenal - no pen and goal was foul on GK Chelsea - cucurella escaped red min before casemiro sent off Burnley - walker stamp on dorgu and disallowed goal

Decisions, decisions. Amad Diallo was a penalty. That gets given as a free-kick anywhere else on the pitch. It’s even more a penalty than the Matheus Cunha penalty (which was a pen, however “soft”). Amad was just less theatrical. Penalty not given. Wrong decision. Harry Maguire was a penalty and red card. DOGSO. Penalty and red card given. Correct decision.  Understandable debate over the decisions and inevitable frustration for Manchester United. But United have benefited from decisions that go their way this season. All clubs have these issues, examples, frustrations. The main issue here is … 1) General standard of officiating in the Premier League. Amad decision was poor. Even more investment required in grass-roots refereeing, in fast-tracking talent, in training up academy graduates who don’t make it as pros, and in continued work to improve further the Select Group refs. PL has some good officials. Just need more. 2) Football belongs to fans, not officials. Fans deserve to know what is going on in real time. When decision/incident being discussed by officials, audio should be played live. The authorities don’t want to, feel it places too much pressure on officials so content themselves with brief explanation when announcing decision and clarification on PL Match Centre. Fans in the stadium and tuning in pay a lot for tickets and subscriptions, respectively, and shouldn’t be kept in the dark. Audio works well in rugby union and cricket (and acknowledging those sports have more pauses in play). l went to a VAR demonstration (not PL) earlier this week given by an elite official. Hearing the audio between officials gave insight into the process - and respect for what they are dealing with at speed, especially with players trying to con them.  You are never going to get complete consistency over decisions. There’s always going to be an element of subjectivity with so many incidents. But fans deserve more transparency and accountability. It might restore some trust. #BOUMUN

@RobDawsonESPN There's no way he's giving a second pen for the away side about two mins after the first and disallowing a goal for the home team at the same time. Even though that's what the rules state should happen Nothing to do with VAR. It's down to incompetent officials...again

Carrick has a point about refereeing last night. Contact for Amad and Maguire situations is very similar. Do wonder whether VAR has, subconsciously, been influenced by the Bournemouth goal for the Amad one. Either way, Carrick has a right to be annoyed. United did enough to win.

@CharZiyanah Our fans also ridicule a player constantly calling him shit and league 2 level, and are then shocked that either noone wants to buy that player or that we have to sell them cheap

People attack Ugarte every time he breathes, expect him to come off the bench and fail and and are surprised when he makes mistakes. But the same standard isn’t held for other players! This fanbase have treated Ugarte horrifically. Content creators and twats like Luckhurst are not innocent either, ganging up on him disproportionately and failing to call out the mistakes of players they like. This is a 24 year old player in his second season that has started just 7 matches (who by way got 6 assists and 2 goals in his first season, and everybody forgets this). In his first season, the main criticism of him was that he didn’t progress the ball enough. But towards the end of it, and this season, he is clearly showing signs of improvement in this aspect. The data suggests the same: Last season he was in the 38th percentile for progressive carries and 12th for progressive passes and this season he’s in the 45th and 55th. His key passes have risen from the 0.2nd percentile to the 28th percentile. Meanwhile, he is still doing his job and winning possession excellently, in the 99.5th percentile compared to the 93rd percentile of last season. He may not be the right fit for us, but assassinating a 24 year old in his second season without a run of games, taking to social media to abuse him relentlessly and clip him up and ganging up on him is classless. He’s wearing our shirt! Carrick has praised him saying ‘He’s been terrific around the group with his attitude and how we go about it, his training qualities’.

🚨 Stuart Attwell should never ref a game for Manchester United again. He’s cost us 4 points this season: - January 7th vs Burnley (A) - The Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel ruled Stuart Attwell shouldn’t have disallowed Lisandro Martinez’s goal. - March 20th vs Bournemouth (A) - Stuart Attwell ignores a clear penalty on Amad, then minutes later gives almost the same call against Maguire, handing him a red card. @FA_PGMOL sort it out.

@rioferdy5 @Rebex32 Same officials as burnley away when we had a goal wrongly disallowed...shocker Also, can we stop blaming VAR and start actually pointing the blame at the officials. Even without VAR, atwell should have seen that was a pen

@CraggerRagger @DougieCritchley The card is for the last man/denying clear opportunity, rather than the severity of the foul. But Amad’s should have been given, which would have probably been 2-0 and game over

It’s a foul… it’s a goalscoring opportunity… it’s a red card and a penalty. The pass from Kroupi and touch from Evanilson are perfect. Hugely frustrating for Man United though after a similar incident on Amad wasn’t given in their favour. Huge final 10!
