Suponha que todas as pessoas do mundo tenham que votar escolhendo entre um botão vermelho e um botão azul. Se o azul ganhar (> 50% azul), todas as pessoas sobrevivem. Se o vermelho ganhar (> 50% vermelho), só quem votou vermelho sobrevive. Como você vota?

I'm a blue button pusher. Reasons in no necessary order: 1) Many people I love and care for will press blue. Me pressing blue has a chance of saving them, me pressing red does not 2) I would feel bad if I contributed, in however small a way, to the direct death of a non-zero number of people 3) I believe most people will, when it comes down to it, push blue. Pushing blue has the greatest chance of *everyone* surviving.

That is not the duality, because even if we agree some people will push blue, if blue doesn't hit the 50% mark, you just condemn yourself. You line of thinking is only valuable if you know will hit 50% mark, which will not, you are being optimistic about the altruism and pessimistic about human intelligence. When stops being a theorical dilemma and becomes reality, even you virtue signaling blues will hit red. Blue is suicide. In the end is not a moral dilemma. Is a IQ test. Don't hit the kill button. Even a child will understand. The blue haired mother will die and leave the smart children as orphan, well done you virtuous idiot.

Only way to limit coming AI backlash is to start shifting taxes from labor to compute. The average voter needs to see salient benefits from AI. Today we tax labor > compute (income vs corp tax, depreciation for machines not education, payroll tax, etc). This will have to invert.

@PHGutemberg @MedicoLiberdade In theory this in incorrect, since market dynamics could have higher or lower than 100%. Although practically is eventually correct, because if not, is considered a market inefficiency and arbritage would thin the spread to 100%.
