👀 The light comes back first. Then the warmth. 🔥 Then the quiet stir of things we thought were gone. Nothing is ever truly lost — only waiting for its season to be reborn.🌹 @CandyDigital returns Monday. 🤫 The “interim Candy.io” won’t impress, but fans will be able to see what they own. After Monday we race to unlock it, give our fans self-custody,💪 many more treasures to own,🏆 and games to play chasing them. 🚀 Happy Spring‼️

👀 On Friday I doubled down on my commitment to digital collectibles by agreeing to acquire most of the assets of @CandyDigital (Candy.io). When the transaction closes in a week or two, I will also serve as CEO. 💪 My view is that the sustained value of digital collectibles of all kinds requires transparency, security, liquidity, scarcity, and desirability. Candy.io intends to provide all five of those benefits for past and future fans. Agentic and #AI commerce will cause velocity and value to soar where crypto rails make transactions easy and clear digital ownership and rock solid authenticity exist. 🔥 Candy.io will operate by a few simple values on my watch: the Golden Rule for all involved; respect for licensor brands and artists; relentless focus on fan experience; frequent communication often from me.💪 My email address is tad.smith@candy.io for those who want to reach me directly. Please follow @CandyDigital as well for more communication. Our site has been in maintenance mode — frustrating (I know!) — but our many fans are about to have their patience rewarded.🙏 More details on the platform, relaunch, and some dazzling new collectibles and #NFTs you can’t get anywhere else are coming as soon as we close the deal. 👍 We’re not starting over on Candy.io. We’re picking up something extraordinary and making it better. 📈🔥🚀‼️ Please join me to write the next chapter of Candy.io. 🫡

A @CandyDigital update after 4 months with times to restore withdrawals and talk of a "new" site. Any news is good news 👀

In the DC NFT downtime, I've been working on a way to track @FanableApp Kiosk Supply levels so people can be alerted the moment Kiosks reach a certain level/or are restocked! Integrated with the DC3 Wiki Discord for easy notifications, this has been working well over my testing period. Check it out, more info in the link below! dc3.wiki/fanable

FYI this site is actually really important for navigating and finding what's out there. You can use it to tell what's still in packs and who owns things that you might want. I'll do a video on it some time in the next few days: dc3.wiki/mlb_collectibl…

🧵 My thesis on Candy Digital & the future of sports digital collectibles: 1️⃣
As a kid, trading cards was one of my favorite things in the world.
We’d hit the hobby shop on weekends, buy packs, and sit around trading with friends.
That sense of discovery and connection stuck with me. 2️⃣
I found Candy Digital in 2023 — MLB’s licensed digital collectibles platform.
At the time, the marketplace was dead (and still relatively is).
But I picked up a few moments anyway — like pieces from Acuña’s 40-70 season — because there’s only 10 in the world, and being one of the holders felt historic. 3️⃣
By chance, I pulled Junior Caminero’s first hit — including the first edition where he still wore jersey #1.
At the time, nobody cared.
Now, Caminero looks like one of the best young players in baseball. 4️⃣
When I came back this year, I realized something big:
Candy is the only platform capturing MLB-licensed history from 2022 onward — Ohtani’s 50-50 season, Acuña’s 40-70, Ohtani’s first Dodgers World Series + MVP, and rookies like Skenes, Caminero, and Yamamoto.
That’s a massive dataset of modern baseball history — hiding in plain sight. 5️⃣
Here’s the problem: right now, the digital collectibles world is fragmented (and a lot of collectors dislike Candy).
Most brands seem to want its own walled garden.
But as a marketplace founder in my day job, I’ve seen how these things always play out. 6️⃣
 Marketplaces have gravitational pull.
They consolidate.
They don’t stay fragmented forever — they move toward monopoly or near-monopoly status.
Think Amazon, eBay, Uber, Airbnb. Collectors are already demanding self-custody — real ownership of their assets — and once that becomes standard, a secondary global marketplace will emerge. 7️⃣
In that marketplace, collectors will trade with anyone, anywhere, anytime — across brands and across sports.
That’s the big unlock.
It’s the equivalent of what Airbnb did for property or what eBay did for collectibles. 8️⃣
When that happens, there will be a massive repricing, and most things will go up in value.
Right now, high-quality digital supply on small marketplaces is being undervalued — just like great properties that haven’t yet been listed on Airbnb.
Once they all connect, prices normalize. … #CandyDigital #MLBCollectibles #SportsCollectibles #DigitalCollectibles #NFTCollectibles #BaseballCards #Ohtani #ShoheiOhtani #AcuñaJr #Caminero #MLB

Not that I am aware of. It could be theoretically possible. But would be a lot of work and take a decent amount of time to run based on how I know the Candy site is setup. Out of curiosity how would people like it calculated? Based on Floor Price? Based on Last Sold Price? Based on Average Sold price over the last X days? And how would you treat items that have never had a sale or potentially have no listings active?

@DC3Wiki Thanks for all the great work. Makes doing research so much easier. ❤️‍🔥 Can I ask is there a way to search every drop since day one in release date order?🤔 Wondering how many drops from the very beginning through all the various platforms. Candy, Palm etc..

It's a tough time waiting to see what happens next with no drops. In the meantime I've added new filters to the Wiki, so you can better search different collections. Like finding all cover art made exclusively for the DC3! dc3.wiki/collections_dc…

Yeah, I realize the wording might be tricky, so i think sticking with "Exclusive Art" rather than "Exclusive Cover" makes it a bit clearer. Yeah, linking to the cover might be easier if I design another page for it. But in the meantime inside of each collections' page, there is just a Note on which cover is the exclusive. Here's Batman Beyond's for example

@DC3Wiki @ericch88dez Okay, that's good to know how this is defined. I see it as covers that are only available on DC3. Would you be able to point to the exact cover rather then just the drop?

I had confirmed with @ericch88dez a little ways back on which covers counted for this. I think the exact criteria was covers made specifically for the DC3. So it wouldn't count if the cover was an interior art page from the issue, or pulled from another series, etc. If someone from DC gives some official confirmation, I'm happy change the filter.
