Lord Jesus, you who spoke so clearly on that Galilean hillside, I come before you now with open hands and a willing heart. Your words from Matthew 16:24 echo in my spirit, “whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Strip away every selfish ambition, every comfort I cling to, every plan I’ve written in my own name. Teach me the holy art of self-denial, not as punishment, but as the doorway to real freedom. Where my flesh cries “mine,” let my spirit whisper “yours.” Where pride whispers “stay safe,” let love shout “take up the cross.” Give me courage Lord, to shoulder whatever cross this day or this season lays upon my shoulders, sickness, loss, misunderstanding, or simply the daily dying to self that following you requires. I do not ask for an easier road; I ask for your strong shoulder beside mine so I never carry it alone. Walk with me, Jesus. Lead me where you went, through crowds and wilderness, through joy and sorrow, through death and into resurrection life. Let every step I take be an act of love for you, every breath a quiet “yes” to your will. I am yours. Wholly, gladly, forever. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ my Lord, Amen. #dailyprayer✝️
