Moisture sensors are being installed across multiple farms in Leflore County as part of an educational program focused on improving irrigation management. Several local producers are participating in the effort.

91% of the state is now in severe drought or worse - with 39% in extreme/exceptional. This is one of the driest starts to the year on record with some relief possible this weekend.

Drought conditions continue to worsen across Mississippi. -Last year at this time: only 1.3% of the state was in any drought. -This year: 92% of Mississippi is in at least Moderate Drought, with 48% now in Severe drought or worse. Hoping we catch some rain soon!!
