Christianity is the religion that spent centuries: 1, Defending slavery 2, Burning people alive for wrongthink 3, Launching holy wars 4, Threatening eternal torture for thought crimes 5, Worshipping a God who drowned the entire planet and killed firstborn babies It's just one blood-soaked Bronze Age cult that got really good marketing. Every other religion has its own bullshit, but don't pretend yours is special. It's not. It's just the one you're addicted to.
Against Atheism@AgainstAtheismX

I don't see how any worldview, religion, or creed even remotely compares to Christianity.

No immigrant stole your job. You were laid off by a capitalist who wanted cheap labor and took advantage of that immigrant to increase his profits, and nothing makes him happier than watching you blame the worker instead of him.

The year is 1999. Manchester United have just beaten Bayern Munich in the final minutes, in what was an unlikely win, to clinch the Champions League & complete the unprecedented treble. Every United fan is delirious. Some were laughing, others were jumping and hugging each other. Suddenly the camera zooms in. In a corner sat a man with a United T-shirt who looked angry and was muttering to himself. The behavior was odd for someone whose team had just won the treble. Immediately the producers asked their reporter to interview him. The reporter approached the man asked him why he looked desolate despite his team winning the CL? The man turned to the camera and said: "Bayern Munich produced more shots, more xG, more possession, more time in opponents half, more attacking actions than Manchester United. Then how can I be happy with the result?"
Jimmy Hosang@Hosang

“Disregard and air quote “eye test” all you like but Amorim’s football was all at the same time poor to watch, achieving poor results and ignorant of the attributes of the squad. “ But the data doesn’t support this. If the team was producing more shots, more xG, more possession, more time in opponents half, more attacking actions than almost EVERY UNITED TEAM IN THE LAST 12 SEASONS, then how are we categorising “poor”? I’ve long felt United fans are swayed by how things “feel” rather than what they really are, and this is an example.

The collapse of trust in science is going to go down in history as one of the most sad, bizarre, and destructive social contagions of modern times. We fed billions, cured diseases and powered nations - yet people ran toward conspiracies instead.

“A child is not a Christian child, not a Muslim child, but a child of Christian parents or a child of Muslim parents. This latter nomenclature, by the way, would be an excellent piece of consciousness-raising for the children themselves. A child who is told she is a 'child of Muslim parents' will immediately realize that religion is something for her to choose -or reject- when she becomes old enough to do so.” ― Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

So... just so we're clear... you want me to be afraid of trans women in the women's bathroom because they might be cis men pretending so they can assault women and children... and you think this reflects on... trans women... and not on cis men? Do I have this correct?

My daughter said something to me last week that stopped me cold. She’s 18, grown, with her own opinions about everything now. We were having dinner when, out of nowhere, she said, “Dad, you know what I’ve always noticed about you?” I said, “What?” She replied, “You always speak to people like they matter, waiters, janitors, everyone. You always look them in the eye.” I put my fork down. She continued, “I decided a long time ago that I wanted to be like that.” I’ve been a father for 18 years, I’ve worried about every decision I’ve made raising her, every missed moment, every wrong word, every time I wasn’t sure I was getting it right. And my daughter learned to truly see people because she watched me do it. I excused myself after dinner, went to the bathroom, and stood over the sink for a while. The things your children absorb, without you ever realizing they’re watching, will either save you or break you. That night, it saved me. What’s something your parents did that shaped you without ever saying a word about it?
