Cavs had more true shots, more transition points and plays and more second chance points. Pistons shot 14/28 from 3, Cavs shot 7/32 from 3 and 2/11 on corner 3s. Open wide open 3s: Cavs 5-23 Pistons 13-23 Shot clock <7 seconds Cavs: 5-21 Pistons: 12-28

Nothing infuriated me more than watching them. Steadfastly refused to go to the hole when the three ball is clearly not falling. If we shoot the three well, yeah we got a shot to win, but who doesn’t? But we routinely make every other team look like the 2017 warriors. It’s not a generally fun experience to watch this team.

@racjac24 I’d moderate the Harden view. He can find players who can spot up from 3 pt land. Cavs are lacking with that. Mitchell 2-9 from 3 plus Cavs 7-32 from 3 is pretty bad. FWIW pretty much agree with player assessments. Win 2 @ home it’s a best 2 out of 3 series.

Realistic criticisms Kenny-All of it Harden-All of it. The comical part is in Round 1 they hilariously wouldn't have gotten by with the old PG Donovan- it's nuanced but deserves a solid amount. Like Nash said last night(to the point of laughter), they are not using him properly...until half 2 last night Mobley- Some yes, but some of you lack basic basketball understanding. Watching games on Bravo. Can type 3 pages on his stuff. Allen- Allen is Allen. Just should accept it. Some games he is good/real good. Last night he was nice. Some games he is thinking of his cats. Wade-Is what it is. He is playing about as well as he can. That shouldn't be your 5th guy Strus-Up and down but has brought the juice nightly Dennis-Understands NBA basketball. A lot on the team do not. His mistakes are almost acceptable bc they come from a place of knowledge Tyson-Needs to start. Has no clue on defensive rotations. But this team has to win games 117-111 not 94-91 Ellis-incomplete. Merrill-been ok. Battles on D. No heater games really Bryant-He has been gross in limited minutes

@923TheFan @SportsBoyTony @andy_baskin Team game. Harden can find guys who can spot up from behind the arc. Name me the best Cav at spotting up behind the arc, catching and shooting. It isn’t part of Mitchell’s game. Sam Merrill? Dean Wade? Tyson? Probably Max Strus but he’s inconsistent. Cavs lack fire power.

"The series is over isn't it?" "How about play more quarters like you did in the 3rd quarter. Stop turning the ball over. Can they shoot that bad from 3 again?" 🚨@SportsBoyTony & @andy_baskin react to Cavs going down 2-0

Harden is one of the worst, if not the absolute worst, playoff performers relative to regular season success in North American sports history over the last 50 years. Cleveland choked last year. Bringing in a guy with Harden’s postseason resume to fix the problem was insane
Chris Mannix@SIChrisMannix

James Harden's line: 10 points on 3-13 shooting, 0-4 from three point range. Four turnovers, three assists. Finished a -15. No other Cav in +/- double digits, no starter worse than -6.

I miss the old power air dribble into a layup. It doesn’t have to be a Eurostep 100% of the time. You can’t anticipate where a defender’s legs/feet are going to be

Many Cavs fans bitter. I’m a Cavs fan but don’t feel that way. Cavs simply don’t have enough fire power. Koby doesn’t have a plan as far as I can tell. I think they can win the series with Pistons. Do not ever see them getting by the Knicks.

@Dalgby @TheKellenMond @MaryKayCabot There’s a distinct difference in those numbers. The Browns never got the top QB they thought they were getting, but Watson was at least a decent NFL QB the first 2 years. He was unplayable in 2024. If he’s back to 2023 form, he’s their guy barring a late addition to the QB room.

Anyone who’s been in the NFL knows “QB1 competition” isn’t really a thing (very rare). It’s about choosing the guy who you believe gives you the best chance to win and maximizing his reps. Especially when the 💰 plays a factor. @MaryKayCabot has been right all along. In my opinion, she’s got inside sources. It’s DW’s job to lose. Compare his footwork, fundamentals and balance to when he last played and it’s a complete 180. Still gotta prove it in games, but him and @QuincyAvery put in work. Like it or not, SS and DG are competing for QB2. One will not be a CLE Brown, and strong play boosts trade value for both because they have both started games. (This isn’t some cake walk for SS either - DG beat SS out last preseason. DG is also the higher draft pick - that matters). TG will be QB3. If you’re unsure who QB1 is, watch who’s getting the bulk of first team reps. They may not name it soon, but they still have to prepare a starter. Right now, that’s DW.

Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson - who should be the Browns QB1 in 2026?

@dcredtail @TheKellenMond @MaryKayCabot Ok fair enough. He’s been coddled pretty much since joining the Browns. We’ll see how Monken handles him. He’s played in 19 total games for the Browns in 4 seasons. Numbers aren’t good over those 19 games. New coach, contract year, could make a difference.

@SportsBoyTony @NickPedone12 The NFL isn’t about what’s right, it’s not about fairness it’s about perception. The fans don’t care about players better on games so the NFL who gets paid from betting isn’t going to care. If he goes to AA and has actions written into his contract if he is caught gambling on the NFL or whatever the limits are he will be allowed to play in the NFL with no suspension You think they suspending a white QB who ppl think is a franchise QB hell no. NFL actions if he goes to a team: 31 other Teams: 0 games Browns: 6 to 17 games

@TheRealXavierP @SportsBoyTony @NickPedone12 Admittedly had to look this about Clarett. He wanted to enter the draft after 2 years of college eligibility. Went to federal court and won at the district level but lost on appeal. He ended up getting drafted a year later. Was cut before season. Was never suspended by the NFL.

@923TheFan @SportsBoyTony @NickPedone12 Cavs split 1st 2 on the road will be mission accomplished. If they lose bet the Cavs to cover game 3 hard although the line has adjusted for this over the years. Used to be a license to print money, now not so much but still good IMO.

"I don't think anyone can see the Cavs winning 4 of 5 which is what they would have to do if they lose tonight which means... Tonight is a must win playoff game." 🏀@SportsBoyTony & @NickPedone12 say Game 2 is pivotal for #Cavs if they want a real chance to win this series

@BrownsNationcom Tony “stirring the pot” as he often does. That’s fine. Group think among sports media folks happens too often in my view. You all can disagree with @TonyGrossi on his take (I do) but he provided solid reasoning for his view. Disagree don’t hate.

Tony Grossi says Dillon Gabriel could be a steady, low-profile backup option for the Browns, highlighting his preparation, team-first approach, and ability to step in if needed. "Gabriel's a guy who could keep quiet, and he'll just study. He'll stay up on the game plan. He'll support the starter in any way he can. He'll run the scout team. If needed, he'll play. That's what you want out of a backup quarterback. Shedeur's shadow is just so huge. If you didn't like him as a starter, you didn't consider him as a backup." (via @ESPNCleveland)
