@1KawIguy @SnazzyYGO Draw 5 from a 40 card deck and start the game is really awful design. Long strings of library searchs are bad design, a bunch of force of wills(hand traps) are also bad design, but have to exist to keep the play/draw stable.

Sometimes cards themselves are designed poorly, like A Legendary Ocean/Warrior of Atlantis, but that’s not a game design issue. That’s a card design issue. And ygo is far from the only game with bad card design

MTG enchantments can be 'just' "Enchantment" or if they have a subtype can be "Enchantment- Shrine" or "Enchantment - Aura". Don't have to errata everything. And if they'd fixed this when MTG did (20 years ago), there'd be a lot less cards to fix.

Every single yugioh card needs 3 paragraphs of restrictions and reminders of retroactively added rules or it goes infinite turn 1 and the game implodes. Worst designed game in history

@00zau @NaughtyKestrel @Review_bra Yes they would. Spells/traps cards have a different anatomy than monster cards. Monster cards do not have a location to indicate it is a field card and changing a monsters type to aqua/effect/umi would still not be equivalent to spell/field/umi

They had to make a special rule that warrior of Atlantis can search A Legendary Ocean, despite it saying that it searches A Legendary Ocean, because A Legendary Ocean ALWAYS counts as Umi?
