The President of the United States said I insulted Jesus. You want to know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their healthcare. Bombing schoolchildren in Iran. Deporting moms and babies. Covering up the Epstein files.

It’s funny that the GOP even has to be concerned about Texas - it shouldn’t even be a consideration if they were doing a good job. The time for a “woke tweets” election is long gone. Especially when the Republican options are either corrupt and a philanderer or part of the old Republican guard that hasn’t delivered for Texans. James Talarico’s philosophy is simple: Texans have suffered under one party rule for too long. Plus his policies aren’t even leftwing! Public and private healthcare options. A fair immigration system and a secure border. Painting him as extreme won’t stick when his policies aren’t.

The reason these attacks are coming is they are afraid of the movement that we’re building in Texas—working people coming together across all these divisions to take on this broken, corrupt political system. The question is, what do the American people care more about: culture wars or actual wars? Do they care more about pronouns or prices?

I’m a Democrat because I feel like it’s the best vehicle to unite working people — but if the party is not doing that, I have no problem calling it out. In Texas, we have been suffering for 30 years under one-party rule. One-party rule always leads to extremism and corruption because there’s not a check on that power. We have the opportunity to finally end 30 years of one-party rule in Texas. If we do that, I think it’s gonna improve public policy for all of us.
