@IanGordonCraig I had meningitis as a kid and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I just wanted to be left alone is what I remember.

@RolandN No sun here today. Very cloudy and very windy. The rain must be close behind by the way the sky looks.

@Davidonena That's almost exactly 10 years ago David. I haven't seen the sun in the UK since 😁

Another sketch and watercolour painting from my archives. I had been sketching for about 5 years when I made this. Duke of York Headquarters, London.

@danro_art We’re going to have to respectfully disagree on this one.👍

Not my Daily Diary
Thursday 22nd January 2026
Another long night, and Chris was up repeatedly, wandering about, talking to me, telling me of the rain, a cat she saw nearly hit by a car, and more. I dozed off at one point for about 15 minutes, I woke to silence and found her sitting in the dark, cold lounge downstairs. She was unable to find the light. I led her back to bed, she was cold, I cuddled close to her, and she soon went to sleep, but I couldn't. Maybe yesterday’s choir excitement kept her buzzing.
Morning rain persisted, grey and cold. I stayed in bed till nine, lacking motivation. After showering, i went downstairs to write my diary, but first I checked the comments on my “Majestic” postcard entry, and there was lots of lovely support and encouragement. It’s boosted my confidence for the June Hague exhibition for Alzheimer’s charity. Thanks to all who commented. Audrey’s portrait setback had dented my confidence a little. Distractions make art hard these days
The morning I spent pottering, doing paperwork, tidying. Chris slept till nearly 1pm, then wanted “The Good Old Days” on bedroom TV. I was tired. It was tempting to stay, but I went back downstairs. I heard her singing along to Arthur Askey’s “Busy Bee” upstairs, which made me smile.
Later, she wanted to get up and showered, came down, and continued watching the“Good Old Days” on YouTube. We’ve seen them all before, and I went back into the kitchen, I'm not sure whose minds more addled mine or Chris's
For dinner, I cooked, poached smoked haddock, poached egg, baked potato, milky sauce, crusty bread. Simple food.
At 5.15, I suggested watching “Pointless” a quiz where the least points win. A pretext to a lead-in to the news. I wanted to watch the news about Greenland, Tensions have eased but are fragile. Reminds me of Falklands ’82. This should be the islanders’ choice. Shame Ukraine gets overshadowed.
In the evening we watched more TV, including catching up with this years “Pottery Throwdown”, we both enjoyed it.
Quiet, uneventful day, but we got through together. That’s enough.
Have a peaceful day or evening to you, wherever you are.
Keith and Chris.

@ValTatum3 I can see it on the ground from the remote and then I can either take a pic or video.
English

@Davidonena Looks brilliant. Can you see the image from the ground or do you have to wait to see results?
English

@ValTatum3 Thanks Val. I got a drone for Christmas and took some shots of the sun. It’s lots of fun too.
