@bouguereau_stan @eigenrobot That's actually kind of my intent with it. A mix of upper and lower class. - Converse w/ red laces - Custom tailored jeans - Custom tailored untucked button down shirt, with sleeves rolled up - AWU 2 with red band - big ol' tattoo of mine on my forearm

all of these are wrong. do not wear dark shirts. if you want color add a tie or a subtle pattern over the white base. otherwise save color for your jacket. thank you for your attention to this matter!

@eigenrobot I'm not sure if we understand physics at that level well enough, to know this for certain. But the accepted interpretation of it, does point that way.

it's odd that calvinism got any converts whats even the point yk. not like anything you do is going to matter one way or another. just wait to be dead and you can finally scratch off your lottery ticket really takes the personal narrative drama out of religion

The interesting thing about determinism, is that, from what i gather from physicists, relativity is at least locally deterministic. Like, at the universal scale we can't really say that everything that ever was, is, and will be is predetermined, but if you look at "small" pockets/sections of space, it actually is.

"well its already determined whether or not your soul is saved" "so i can become a calvinist or not and it wont matter what i choose here" "well strictly speaking your not choosing" fair enough but what a sales pitch

@selentelechia I rather enjoy seeing anecdotes like this... makes me realize how unique people can be, as a whole My father is the most dominant person I know, personality-wise But he's always just automatically lowered the toilet seat afterwards without thinking

At the time the going belief was that a game needed to have around 40-80 hours of playtime. So Loom’s “short” duration was kind of shocking, though it’s quality was certainly recognized.
exQUIZitely 🕹️@exQUIZitely

Loom (1990) was neither very difficult nor very long... nor could you get stuck (no dead ends or unwinnable states). Some argue it was actually too short (maybe a slight hint of criticism). But think about what you will, it was definitely unique at the time, introducing a new way to interact with the environment, and had a truly fantastic story. Usually, successful adventure games got sequels (for example pretty much all early Sierra adventures, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Legend of Kyrandia...) - however, Loom sadly never did. Loom 2 was never made primarily because Brian Moriarty (the game's creator and designer) and the rest of the original team moved on to other projects, and no one at Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts felt strongly enough to champion and commit to a sequel. Moriarty later sketched out ideas for two sequelsm called The Forge (focusing on one protagonist) and The Fold, but there was never a firm plan right after the first game shipped. He has described himself as "too exhausted" after Loom to push forward immediately. Defintely worth for being made by an indi-team one day. I would like to believe there are still enough fans out there who would support/buy it. I know I would. Would you?

A railway company in Japan once ran out of money to pay a stationmaster. So they gave the job to the cat who lived outside the station. She wore a custom made hat, worked for cat food, and saved the entire line. Her name was Tama. She was a calico cat who had spent her days sitting near the entrance of Kishi Station in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, greeting passengers anyway. When the company destaffed the station in 2006 to cut costs, the president visited to discuss what to do about the stray cats living nearby. He looked into Tama's eyes and later said they conveyed a sense of purpose as strong as any of his employees. He made her stationmaster. Within a month passenger numbers rose by seventeen percent. People began travelling from across Japan just to see her. Tourists arrived from other countries. A French documentary crew came to film her. The station was eventually rebuilt in the shape of a cat's face. In her eight years as stationmaster Tama contributed an estimated one billion yen to the local economy. She was promoted four times. She eventually held the title of Honorary President of the railway. The only female in a senior position in the entire company. When she passed away in 2015 over three thousand people attended her funeral. She was given the posthumous title Honorary Eternal Stationmaster and enshrined at a nearby Shinto shrine as a goddess. The position of stationmaster at Kishi Station is still held by a cat today.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

I feel like I need to find a way to make QM actually understandable, to a decent degree, by people who haven't spent a non-insignificant percentage of their personal time, over several years, trying to fit their head around it. The amount of people out there who just don't know how to teach, is too damn high.

"an eye for an eye leaves the world blind" this is obviously false. how many people have you blinded in your life? would someone maliciously blinding you make you more likely to extrajudicially blind someone else? everyone saying this is a criminal or the dupe of one
