@DeeCeeIRL
Why fight ? Sit down and work out your differences across the table. But stand firm if attacked.

This spineless #FFFG government just sent another €40 million to the Kiev oligarchs for more flashy cars and houses in London.
Spend it on the decent Ukrainians living in Ireland !
That money will never reach the Ukrainian people.

@Roisin_Garden Choices have to be made. We’d be way ahead on offshore wind by now only for objections of dubious origin.
English

@DeeCeeIRL Nope?
To which point?
I'm not arguing against
But everything it seems has an enviromental cost.
English

Fukushima Melt down shook me
The Japanese are really decent engineers & if they couldn't get it right?
We can't even build a hospital correctly🤷♀️
I am unsure on a few fronts
We need a strong cheap baseload
Nuclear is looking like the right fit but I don't trust us to build it
James O'Connor TD@JamesOConnorTD
I am proud to announce my first bill with the ambition to legalise nuclear energy in Ireland. 101 years ago, Ireland broke ground on the Shannon Hydroelectric Scheme. In our past we had an ambition to do what was necessary. Now we must do so again. businesspost.ie/politics/new-l…
English

@DeeCeeIRL I suspect when we see some of the replays we will ask why
English

@DeeCeeIRL Yes but securing baseload is a must or we'll have rolling blackouts.
Wind & the blade recycling issue has improved (i think)
However they are death machines to so much bird and bat life
Offshore wind seems to be interfering with sea life
Always a trade off it seems

@OHanlonEilis Have they learned English by now ?
Shoulda.
Many are skilled, what’s their participation rate in one of the fastest growing economies in Europe where they have been given generous benefits ?
No free lunch, lads.
But there’s no doubt who started the war. Putin’s russia 🤮

Have written today about a new poll showing 80 per cent of Irish people back ending financial support for Ukrainian exiles in Ireland. We welcomed them, and now we're bored of the war and want them to bog off home. So much for compassionate Ireland! independent.ie/opinion/commen…

✅ Gardaí could be given the go-ahead to ram people who use mopeds, scooters, or scramblers to commit crimes off the road. irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4183…
English

@Roisin_Garden Fair reply
Personally I think wind power is going to play, must play, a large part going forward
English

@DeeCeeIRL If we can do it correctly it may be a real plus
In order for any society to posper plentiful cheap energy seems to be a must
Plus some of the newer small module reactors look to be way more effient & cleaner
It's just the *if* part . . .

@danobrien20 Sick 🤮 of this
€2,900,000,000.00 on IPAS baloney last year
Taxpayers get screwed.
Enough.
English

Excellent chart showing marginal personal tax rates in Ireland. Worth noting that the self employed pay an additional 3% above €100k bringing their marginal rate to 55%.
Makes so much sense that those embodiements of neoliberalism - people who works for themselves - have to pay more tax than a public sector worker who faces no risk to income, enjoys sick leave etc.
Pro-enterprise governments since 2008?
David Corley@heavydawson
@danobrien20 ...and finally, the marginal rates....
English

@jamesfahey15 O but the government was “monitoring the situation……” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
English

@JohnOBrennan2 €2,900,000,000.00 on IPAS ??
What ARE you smoking when you say there’s no fiscal room for manoeuvre ?

Deportation madness
Deportion flight in January cost taxpayer €151,000 for 33 foreign criminals , 20 straight from prison
Those on board had 1,000 criminal charges between them for sex offences, drug supply and organised crime.
"Along with gardaí there was a human rights monitor, a translator. and a medical team on board."
