Today, we welcomed Lt. Gen. James Adams as the 25th director of DIA. During his address, Lt. Gen. Adams emphasized the role of intelligence in delivering decision advantage, strengthening deterrence and ensuring mission success.

This Friday at 1pm EST, join us virtually as The Honorable Bradley Hansell, Under Secretary of War (I&S), presides over DIA’s Assumption of Directorship Ceremony, in which Lt. Gen. James Adams, USMC, will officially assume directorship of DIA.

On Dec. 12, 1964, Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara unified all U.S. military attaché efforts under DIA, creating the Defense Attaché System. Today, DIA maintains operational, management and budget responsibilities for Defense Attaché Offices in 140+ countries.
