🚨🚨 No Hitter Alert! Tanner Matherne throws a no hitter in Loranger’s 4-0 win over Ponchatoula. Mandeville gives Northshore their first loss of the season with a 4-0 win. Sam Marse with a great outing on the mound. Fontainebleau continues to stay on track with a 3-1 win over Live Oak. Conley throws 4 innings of no hit baseball and strikes out six.

@TroyPSilva Looks like a CH or sinker where he was able to extend the hitting zone out front thus making contact on the way up. AKA hitting it out front creating lift. Not creating lift with his bat path.

@nextlevelbb Our standard being late punishment is to mop the locker room floor. Not physical but they don’t want to do it. But in this situation you have to punish equally. If you don’t you will start losing the players trust/respect.

Everybody talks about bat path but some kids don’t truly know or understand what it means. So this visual helps them a ton & teaches them how to create margin of error and keep going through the middle. One of my favorite drills. @HittersUniv

As a hitter with 2 strikes, you’re already more likely to chase, right?? So, w 2 strikes, DON’T EXPAND THE ZONE!!! Visually shrink it by a ball or so. It may help you to lay off trash and force the pitcher to try and actually beat you. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of asking many mlb and professional hitters about this—very few say they expand the zone with 2 strikes !!! Try it. See if it helps. 👊⚾️
