Some personal news to share. My regular column with La Presse has been suspended indefinitely this week, after 25 years and more than 1,000 columns. This was not my decision. The decision is linked to recent public comments I made on social media regarding the evolving media landscape in Canada, including reflections on government support for media and its potential implications. I understand that these are sensitive and complex issues, and my remarks may not have aligned with the publication’s perspective. While I am disappointed, I fully respect their decision and remain grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to contribute over the years. I would also like to note that my contributions were always made on a voluntary basis. I was never compensated for my columns, and have personally supported La Presse through a paid subscription throughout that time. It has truly been a privilege to write for such an important institution. I continue to believe that open, thoughtful discussions about the future of media in Canada are both necessary and healthy.

Doug Ford is now openly campaigning for a Liberal majority. The “Conservative” Premier of Ontario is praising Mark Carney, standing beside him at press conferences, privately advising him to call an election to lock in a majority, and helping him spend $14 billion of your money in a single week. Conservative MP Jamil Jivani called Ford a “hype-man for the Liberal party” and “a problem for Ontario and for Canada.” He was right. Ford said “government has a spending problem.” Then he tabled the biggest budget in Ontario history. $244 billion. That’s a $13.8 billion deficit. With our debt Debt crossing $500 billion. He’s not opposing Liberal policies. He’s actually co-signing it. Three Conservative MPs crossed the floor to the Liberals. And Ford said nothing. Carney is two seats from a majority. Ford is helping him get there. If you voted Conservative in Ontario, ask yourself: what exactly did you vote for? I personally refused to vote and abstained. He’s a traitor. He’s not a Conservative.

🚨 INSANE. Dr. Charlebois wrote over 1,000 columns for La Presse. For FREE. He was never paid a single dollar. He even paid THEM through a personal subscription. Then he posted on X questioning government subsidies for media. La Presse, a paper whose newsroom wages are almost entirely covered by federal and provincial tax credits SUSPENDED HIM INDEFINITELY. A paper that took $1.6M from Google’s government-mandated fund. A paper that posted a $9 MILLION profit in 2025 thanks to those subsidies. You can’t make this up. He questioned the money. And the money silenced him. THIS IS THE STATE OF CANADIAN MEDIA.

Yes, Pierre Poilievre played football as part of his youth sports activities growing up in Calgary, Alberta. Multiple biographical sources confirm that as a teenager, he participated in competitive sports including football, hockey, and wrestling. For example: • Britannica and several Canadian news outlets (e.g., National Post, Town & Country Today) note he “spent his youth playing competitive sports such as football, hockey and wrestling.” • He attended Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary, where he was active in sports before shifting focus after injuries.

CBC's reporting is now just intentionally false and misleading Raffy Boudjiknian asked Pierre Poilievre a question in the scrum today... and later in his CBC explainer instead of showing viewers Poilievre's answer, he said "Now, he said the first thing he would do is get rid of liberal policies on gas taxes." That's not even close to what Poilievre said. Watch. What he said is he would "unblock our own energy." "I would eliminate liberal laws like C-69 that keep oil in the ground." "I would remove the shipping ban off the northwest coast of BC" "I'd end the liberal industrial carbon tax." "I would move to six month permitting." "And I would make my goal would be to massively increase production and shipping of Canadian oil and gas." "I'd also bring in an energy and minerals reserve so that when these kinds of crises strike, Canadians can sell our oil on the world market to reduce prices for consumers at the same time as we profit from the high prices that foreign economies are paying." Raffy has a serious problem with being truthful. This isn't the first time CBC advertises itself as the protector FROM misinformation when it is one of the biggest speaders OF misinformation @CBCraffy @brodiefenlon @PierrePoilievre

🚨 April 2025: Mark Carney calls China Canada’s "single greatest geopolitical threat." 🇨🇦🚫🇨🇳 April 2026: Make Carney sends Finance Minister Champagne & BoC Gov Tiff Macklem to Beijing to "attract new investment." Apparently, a "threat" becomes a "partner" the moment you light your relationship with the USA on fire. 🏛️ @MarkJCarney @liberal_party #cdnpoli #Carney #Beijing #China #USA #Trump #Canada

Pierre Poilievre addresses Canada's collapsing birthrates and calls out multinational corporations for replacing Canadian workers with low-skilled foreign workers. "If you cannot afford a home, then you have no place to raise children." "A lot of multinational corporations have abused the immigration system in order to drive down wages."
